Abstract

Oppfinnelsen vedrører et barrieremateriale for bruk som emballasje, særlig for næringsmidler, samt en fremgangsmåte til fremstilling av et slikt barriere- materiale med gode oksygenbarriereegenskaper. Man har funnet at ved å blande inn et fiberholdig materiale i en polyolefin dannes et transkrystallinsk sjikt av polyolefmen mot fibermaterialet. Dette transkrystallinske sjikt utgjør den direkte årsak til materialets barriereegenskaper. Man har funnet at fibermaterialet herved utgjør kim for dannelsen av et slikt sjikt, og at dette i stor grad er bestemt av fibermaterialets egenskaper og den tid en har til rådighet for krystallisasjonen.
