Det beskrives et flersjiktmaterial e omfattende minst ett sjikt av en meLctlllolie, eksempelvis av rustfritt stål, og minst ett sjikt av et varmegjennomtrengningsdempende materiale, eksempelvis en karbofleksduk. Materialet anvendes eventuelt sammen med ytterligere isolasjonsmateriale og en beskyttelsesduk som en kappe eller jakke som omslutter vitale installasjoner som rørdeler, flenser mm for å redusere varmegjennomtrengning til installasjonen. Materialet er videre eksplosjonssikkert og oppviser god lyddempingsevne.
