Abstract
Apparat (10) og fremgangsmåte for fjerning av uønsket materiale fra overflaten av et substrat (12) frembringer en strøm (18) av inert gass over overflaten av uønsket materiale/substrat mens det uønskede materialet bestråles (11) med høyenergetiske fotoner som rettes i en vinkel (8) som er skrå i forhold til substratet (12). Oppfinnelsen muliggjør fjerning av uønsket materiale uten endring av de fysikalske egenskaper til materiale som ligger under eller i tilstøtning til det fjernende, uønskede materialet. Under visse omstendigheter, tillater den ikke vinkelrette innfallsvinkel effektiv fjerning hvor normal vinkel forårsaker skade på substratet eller dårlig fjerning eller begge deler.
