Oppfinnelsen angår en fremgangsmåte og et apparat for å beregne feltstyrke i forbindelse med bygninger (102,114) når en utendørs sender (106) er involvert. For å muliggjøre bestemmelse av feltstyrke foretrukket uten tunge beregningsprosedyrer, omfatter fremgangsmåten å bestemme estimater av det elektromagnetiske feltet produsert av senderen (106) på overflater som avgrenser bygningen (104) eller en del av denne, å bestemme feltstyrken på innsiden av bygningen eller en del av denne ved hjelp av estimatene av det elektromagnetiske feltet beregnet for overflatene som avgrenser bygningen eller en del av denne. Fremgangsmåten kan på samme måte anvendes når en innendørs sender er involvert.
