Abstract
Foreliggende oppfinnelse tilveiebringer et isolert peptid som omfatter en aminosyrese- kvens med formelen (I) A,-Xaa-Gly-A4-A5-Gly-A7-Xaa-Gly, hvori A, står for en ami- nosyrerest med en aromatisk eller alifatisk sidekjede, A4 står for en asparagin- eller ar- gininrest eller en aminosyrerest med en aromatisk eller alifatisk sidekjede, A5 står for enhver naturlig forekommende aminosyre, A7 står for en aminosyre med en negativt ladet rest, Xaa står for enhver aminosyrerest, og Gly står for en glysinrest; og anvendel- sen av slike peptider i medisinsk terapi, spesielt i behandlingen av autoimmune tilstan- der slik som reumatoid artritt.The present invention provides an isolated peptide comprising an amino acid sequence of formula (I) A, -Xaa-Gly-A4-A5-Gly-A7-Xaa-Gly, wherein A represents an amino acid residue having an aromatic or aliphatic side chain, A4 stands for an asparagine or arginine residue or an amino acid residue with an aromatic or aliphatic side chain, A5 stands for any naturally occurring amino acid, A7 stands for an amino acid with a negatively charged residue, Xaa stands for any amino acid residue, and Gly stands for for a glycine residue; and the use of such peptides in medical therapy, especially in the treatment of autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.
