Abstract
Se refiere a un metodo para mejorar la reproduccion en plantas dioicas, preferentemente plantas del genero Asparagus, que comprende proporcionar una planta en la que la expresion funcional del supresor dominante del desarrollo de gineceo se interrumpe o reduce y se introduce dicha planta en la endogamia, reproduccion de retrocruzamiento, reproduccion de retrocruzamiento recurrente o produccion de semilla de haploide duplicado. Tambien se refiere a una proteina que es capaz de suprimir el desarrollo del gineceo en plantas Asparagus, donde dicho supresor dominante del desarrollo de gineceo es codificado por un gen que comprende un dominio DUF247. Tambien se proporcionan plantas dioicas en las que la expresion de este gen se interrumpe o reduce
