Abstract
1530718 Purifying exhaust gases PECHINEY UGINE KUHLMANN 13 Dec 1976 [15 Dec 1975] 51884/76 Heading B1L [Also in Divisions Cl and Fl] Lead is removed from the exhaust gas of a combustion engine by passing the gas through metal wool (stainless steel wool specified) which has been coated with alumina by treating the wool with aqueous alkali metal aluminate solution, the composition of which is adjusted by passage through a regeneration circuit where alumina is added to make up for the quantity deposited.
