Abstract
The present utility model generally relates recycled glass concrete composites comprising recycled glass, cement, sand, gravel and water. It also relates to the process for manufacturing said concrete composite comprising the steps of: washing the waste glass to remove any impurities; crushing the glass to fine aggregates; mixing sand and cement in a ratio of 2:1; and replace the amount of cement by 20%-40%; adding gravel that is equal to the combined sand-and-concrete mixture, ratio of 1 part gravel to 4 parts sand, and 1 part cement; adding water into the mixture until it reaches the right consistency; pouring the concrete composite in a moulder; levelling off the top using a trowel or a wooden board; tapping mixture to help it settle; letting composite harden; removing the composite from the moulder; curing the composite by sun drying for 28 days; testing for physical and mechanical strength after 28 days. Furthermore, it provides a concrete composite derived from recycled glass which can be used as substitute material in construction industries.
