Abstract

An apparatus for chopping forage comprising: a frame assembly having a plurality of vertical bars, an upper rectangular base mounted on top of said vertical bars, a lower rectangular base mounted at the lower portion of said vertical bars; said lower rectangular base is provided with a pair of horizontal bars; a prime mover having a drive pulley is attached to the pair of horizontal bars; a lower drum cover secured to the upper rectangular base; an exhaust port connected to said lower drum cover; a pair of pillow blocks bolted on said upper rectangular base; a shaft rotatably mounted on said pillow blocks; a flywheel disposed on one side of said shaft; a blade assembly is attached to said shaft; a driven pulley attached on the other end of said shaft; an upper drum cover used to enclosed the upper portion of said blade assembly is attached to the upper rectangular base; a feeder securedly fixed to said upper drum cover; a drive belt mounted on the drive pulley and driven pulley, and a clutch mechanism attached to the frame assembly.
