Abstract

The present utility model relates to a process for preparing sorbent composite materials comprising chitosan and CaCO3, where in the process comprises the steps of extracting chitosan from crustacean shells, treating ground CaCO3 from eggshells to make them superhydrophobic and oleophilic and then mixing the extracted chitosan and the treated CaCO3.
