Abstract

The present utility model relates to a biodegradable bin or receptacle, comprising of a hollow body defined by a circumferential layered wall having a top and a bottom opening, a layered cover for covering the top opening of said body, and a base securely attached to the lower portion of the hollow body, sealing the bottom opening, wherein the base is comprised of a multiple protrusions provided with perforations which allows fluids to drain. The layers of the body and cover are made from corrugated carton sandwiched by layers of papier-mache. The base is preferably made from biodegradable egg tray. It is used for composting biodegradable trash or garbage, and be used eventually as a plant box to be buried in soil. The present utility model is advantageous over the prior art as it uses biodegradable materials and allows composting of itself and the trash contained.
