A freely stretched and bare rope is a constant threat to the crew of a longwall face. The causes of many accidents are mainly the movements and transverse vibrations of the rope caused by the dynamic loads of the combine. The freely stretched and bare rope also makes it difficult to work in the wall. The safety rope shield stretched along the runway of the machine, according to the invention, it has stop surfaces placed in the conveyor valve and closing elements protecting the line from the open side of the shield. Closing elements in the form of two-armed levers. in their holders fixed to the conveyor valves, they are in the closed position under the influence of the action of the tension spring. The rope of the safety turnstile is led into the guard by means of a guide attached to the sled near the combine's skid. Automatic opening of the closing elements is achieved by the action of the rope guide stop surfaces. The rope shield enables safe work for the longwall crew and trouble-free operation of the shearer and other devices located in the longwall face.
