Przedmiotem wzoru użytkowego jest element przekryciowo - izolacyjny, który charakteryzuje się tym, że przekrój zamkniętego profilu jest czworokątną figurą, której pole ograniczone obrysem zewnętrznym jest nie większe niż 160 cm2. Długość profilu (L) jest nie większa niż 2 m, zaś szerokość (A) jest nie większa niż 40 cm, a wysokość (H) jest nie większa niż 40 cm. Element zaopatrzony jest w co najmniej dwie przegrody wewnętrzne (P1, P2) w odległości (L1, L2) co najmniej 5 cm od jego końców i wykonany jest z tworzywa sztucznego.
