Cylindryczny zbiornik (1) wypełniony jest środkiem gaśniczym (4) w postaci proszku i wyposażony jest w dyszę lub wąż (5), zakończony prądownicą (6). Przenośne urządzenie gaśnicze do gaszenia pożarów katalizatorów metaloorganicznych charakteryzuje się tym, że składnikiem gaszącym środka gaśniczego (4) jest ziemia okrzemkowa.
