Przedmiotem wzoru użytkowego jest ul pszczeli wykonany poprzez połączenie kątowe czterech płyt wykonanych ze styropianu (polistyrenu ekspandowanego, EPS), poliuretanu, styroduru (polistyrenu ekstrudowanego) lub tworzywa polimerowego. Płyty te, po ich połączeniu, będą tworzyć cztery ściany ula pszczelego. Ul pszczeli posiada wnęki (2) w wewnętrznych ścianach ula, o prostych krawędziach i kształcie płaskiego prostopadłościanu lub sześcianu, służące do montażu mat wykonanych z włókien naturalnych.
