Description

Takim promieniowaniem korzystnie okazalo sie promieniowanie elektromagnetyczne o wiekszej niz 25 swiatlo widzialne dlugosci fali, a mianowicie dlu¬ gosci zawartej w granicach od 1 mikrona do 10 cm. M^*y'A//<*'"*v* Rl T FIG. 5 16 15 8 17 ± FJG.6 r^^ =0 .12 PL PL PL PL PL PL PL PL PL PLThe invention relates to a device for determining the position of the cutting head of a roadheader or a mining machine. A well-known means for determining the position of the cutting head of a roadheader or mining machine relative to a given profile of the roadway being mined is to mount a radiation receiver on the frame of the roadheader. This receiver, based on signals from a transmitter stationarily mounted in the roadway, enables the determination of the spatial coordinates of the longitudinal axis of the roadheader. Based on the spatial coordinates of the frame or the longitudinal axis of the cutting machine determined in this way, it is also possible to obtain the coordinates of the cutting head, provided, however, that additional signals are used, primarily signals from other machine components, to determine the degree of inclination of the cutting arm relative to the cutting machine. It is also known to equip such machines with indicator devices, allowing for the acquisition of a spatial or flat image of the cutting head's position relative to a given roadway profile. A common drawback of these known designs, however, is the lack of any possibility of directly determining the position of the cutting head itself. The actual spatial coordinates of the cutting head can only be determined at the cost of significant technical effort, and only by determining the horizontal and vertical, mutually parallel deviations of the machine's position, its skew and inclination relative to the gallery axis, and finally its lateral tilt angle. Due to the large number of additional structural elements required, devices of this type are highly susceptible to damage. The use of thermovision in industry is generally known, for example from the book by G. Rudawski "Termowizja i jej filozofii", WKiL, Warszawa 1978, pp. 89-112, e.g. for checking the technical condition of production stations and equipment, such as assessing the condition of refractory linings, examining processes occurring in ingot molds, etc. Thermovision is also known to be used in other fields, such as construction, energy or heating, wherever temperature distributions need to be determined or, on their basis, the technical condition of the tested devices or elements needs to be determined. German Patent No. 2 823 995 describes a transmitter mounted on a plow as a spark switch and/or plow odometer, particularly for use in a plow that is guided on a plow guide mounted on a conveyor on the side of the cutting face, the transmitter being mounted in a protective housing mounted on the plow. This protective housing in the form of a hollow rod is arranged so that only the surface of the housing that radiates the transmitter pulses remains substantially exposed to the outside. United States Patent No. 2 823 995 describes a transmitter mounted on a plow that is mounted on a plow guide mounted on a conveyor on the side of the cutting face, the transmitter being mounted in a protective housing mounted on the plow. This protective housing in the form of a hollow rod is arranged so that only the surface of the housing that radiates the transmitter pulses remains substantially exposed to the outside. Północna nr 4 281876 is known a remotely controlled mining device for recovering mineral dispersed in a seam surrounded at the top and bottom by earth bound with other materials, comprising a continuous mining machine having drive elements incorporated therein to move the machine through successive seam mining cycles, including forward travel along the seam entrance towards the working face, a lighting device mounted on the machine to illuminate part of the space around the machine, including part of the working face located at the front of the machine and adjacent parts of the roof, walls and floor of the mined entrance towards the rear of the working face, which lighting devices The light sources consist of a compact, gaseous, full-spectrum light source, and lenses and reflectors for collecting, concentrating, and projecting the light beam onto the above-mentioned parts of the working face; a television camera mounted on the machine, transmitting electromagnetic signals indicating the outline of the illuminated parts of the working face of the seam, as well as adjacent parts of the ceiling, walls, and floor, which camera includes a color television camera with automatic focus and a variable-focus lens; a transmitter of the electromagnetic signals sent by the camera to the remote control station; a television receiver, in a remote control station, operatively connected to a transmitter, for processing signals into a continuous image of the outline of the whole or selected sections of the lighting parts of the face and the adjacent parts of the walls, ceiling and floor, which receiver is a high-resolution colour television monitor, and means enabling the operator of the remote control station to control the machine's operating cycles so that the output of one cycle is mined on the seam from the upper to the lower boundary of the mineral deposit, by the operator distinguishing the boundary between the two types of material forming the deposit, the ceilings and the subsoil, visible on the continuous image of the monitor. The object of the invention is to enable direct determination of the position of the cutting head or of the cutting heads for partial cutting, without the need to determine the position of the cutting machine chassis relative to the roadway. To solve this problem, the device according to the invention is characterized in that an electromagnetic radiation transmitter has a wavelength range from 1 micron to 10 cm, which transmitter is located on the cutting head, the device comprising a distance meter for determining the distance of at least one reference point on the cutting head from the receiver, and preferably an indicator device for displaying the position of the cutting head relative to the profile to be cut. Advantageously, the transmitter is located on the cutting arm 4, wherein the distance is determined to a reference point on the cutting arm. Due to the fact that the electromagnetic radiation transmitter is located directly on the cutting head or as a reference point on the cutting arm, it becomes possible, while taking into account the distance of this point from the receiver stationarily mounted in the roadway, to precisely determine, by determining the size of just one angle, the polar coordinates of the cutting head and to use them in the indicator device or, in the form of control signals, for automatic control of the roadheader 15 or the cutting machine. Due to the high dust content of the atmosphere near the face of the face, and consequently in the immediate vicinity of the cutting head, a type of radiation should be selected for this purpose that, compared to visible light, has less scattering and therefore greater penetration capacity. This type of radiation has been found to be advantageous if it has a wavelength longer than visible light, namely a wavelength ranging from 1 micron to 10 cm. Heat generation during the cutting operation can be utilized to particular advantage, as the individual blades 30 and the entire cutting head reach a temperature significantly higher than the ambient temperature, thus acting as infrared radiators. The large temperature difference between the hot cutting head blades and the environment allows the use of receivers with relatively low sensitivity, and the need for expensive receiver cooling is usually eliminated. Preferably, the receiver is an infrared television camera, the receiver being mounted in a pivotable position and adapted to be oriented relative to at least one cutting head reference point created by the transmitter, in order to determine the angle between a line parallel to 45° of the longitudinal axis of the gallery and a line connecting this cutting head reference point with the transmitter. Such television-type cameras have a linear scanning system so that the video signal obtained in this way can be directly used, using known electronic devices, to display the appropriate image on screens and/or to supply the appropriate signal to a control device. The servo-assisted, follow-up movement of the receiver, mounted 55 swivelably in the manner described above, and its aiming at the transmitter allows for a direct measurement of the size of the desired angle. Therefore, in combination with the distance measured in a known manner, for example using infrared rays, an image of the cutting head position can be directly obtained. If only one point is selected as a transmitter, it is recommended to locate it near the axis of rotation of the cutting head. This allows the known geometry and dimensions of the cutting head, as well as the measured distance, to accurately determine the position of the cutting head in each phase of its rotation. The distance between the stationary receiver and the face of the mine face itself can also be measured, as the cutting head is in a manner of engagement with this face. However, especially when using a television-type camera, it is particularly advantageous if the cutting head itself, heated to operating temperature, acts as the infrared transmitter. In such a case, the receiver covers the entire outline of the hot slot head, and the distance measurement covers the entire outline of the hot slot head. Distance measurement is possible because, for a given actual head size, different distances from the television camera correspond to different dimensions of the slot head outline, measured at the receiver. With a constant focal length of a television camera, a decrease in the measured outline of the slot head corresponds to an increase in its distance from the camera. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the display device comprises a video screen adapted to display the position of the cutting head relative to a given pavement profile, wherein the size of the profile image or the size of the cutting head image can be varied depending on the distance of the head from the infrared radiation receiver or from the infrared camera. In this way, the relative proportions of the system elements displayed on the screen are maintained. This result can be achieved, thanks to the invention, when the infrared television camera constituting the receiver comprises a transfomer with a variable focal length depending on the distance of the cutting head from the camera. A preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention is characterized in that a camera, of the infrared television type, is stationarily mounted and directed in the pavement, the image elements of the infrared radiator are linearly selected in a manner known per se, and the video signal obtained in this way is supplied to an indicator device and/or to a device controlling the movement of the cutting head. The subject of the invention is illustrated in an example of its embodiment in the drawing, in which Fig. 1 schematically shows a device according to the invention arranged in a mine gallery, Figs. 2 and 3 - geometric conditions that should be met in order to find spatial coordinates, Fig. 4 - a schematic side view of the device according to Fig. 1, Fig. 5 - an indicator device connected to the system according to Fig. 1, Fig. 6 - a schematic arrangement of connections necessary to use the obtained signals. Fig. 1 shows a cutting machine 1 for partial cutting, situated in the gallery. 2. The cutting arm 3 of the cutting machine has two cutting heads 4 at its end, mounted in a rotatable manner on an axis 5, situated transversely to the axis of the cutting arm 3. Near the axis 5, there is a reference point 6 on the cutting arm 3, realized in the form of an infrared radiation transmitter, i.e. an infrared radiator. On the door 7 of the gallery housing, there is a stationary camera 8, of the infrared television type, properly oriented in relation to the laser beam 9 running along the gallery. The stationary camera 8, i.e. the receiver itself, allows for determining the distance between the reference point 6 created by the radiator on the cutting arm and this receiver. ^ 15 Relative to the Cartesian coordinates of the receiver reference system x, y and z, two angles are measured, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3. Figure 2 shows a Cartesian reference system 20, the origin of which is the measuring point of an infrared television camera. The x-plane of this system is here oriented in a simple way parallel to the laser guide beam 9. Based on this orientation of the camera reference system, the position of the reference point 6 lying on the collet arm or collet head is determined by means of polar coordinates, i.e. angles {?, 30. This means that two angles and the distance from the origin of the camera reference system 8 to the reference point 8 lying on the collet head or collet arm are subject to this measurement. One can equally well However, using an infrared television camera, the entire external contour 10 of the cutting heads can be analyzed. The angles d, cp to be measured are plotted in Fig. 3. In Fig. 4, the stationary receiver is, as before, oriented relative to the longitudinal axis of the gallery and mounted on the housing door 7. The angle G is measured from the x-y plane of the receiver's reference system and is, as can be seen, the result of subtracting 90° from the angle ft. 45 shown in Fig. 3. In a similar way, in a top view (not shown in the drawing), the angle would be shown as measured from the x-axis of the reference system. Instead of the distance r from the reference point 8 on the cutting arm to the receiver's measuring point 50, the distance a from the receiver to the face 11 can be measured, since the value a in the case of a considerable distance of the receiver from the reference point 8 differs only slightly from the value r. Therefore, in the case when instead of a specific reference point 6 located on the cutting arm or cutting head and created by the infrared radiator, the entire outer outline 10 of the cutting heads 4 is captured by a television camera 60 with infrared rays, an image on the screen, such as the one shown in Fig. 5, can be obtained directly from the video signal received from the said camera. On the screen 13 of the monitor 12, the desired profile 14 of the future sidewalk is visible - 142 733 FIG. 2 FIG. 1.
