Znane i stosowane są płytki płaskie służące do mocowania odłamów kostnych. Jednakże płytki te nie zapewniają mocnego połączenia odłamów kostnych strzałki przy jej złamaniach supinacyjno-ewersyjnych (w/g klasyfikacji Lauge-Hansana). Nie mogą byó one również wykorzystane do zewnętrznego stabilizatora dynamicznego.
