Abstract

Fire-protective valve comprises a housing (1) for a butterfly valve (3) pivoting within it, and a bushing. The housing has a partial region (8) formed as a groove made from a heat-expanding material and extending along the periphery of the butterfly valve when closed. The partial region in the region of the pivoting axis protrudes over the width of the butterfly valve in the closed position. A cover (15) is provided for the protruding partial region to avoid weakening the damping action in the expanded state.
