SPOSÓB WYDZIELANIA WODORU, METANU, AZOTU I ARGONU Z GAZÓW ODPUSZCZANYCH Z SYNTEZY AMONIAKUMETHOD OF LEVELING HYDROGEN, METHANE, NITROGEN AND ARGON FROM GAS DISSOLVED FROM AMMONIA SYNTHESIS
Przedmiotem wynalazku jest sposób wydzżelania wodoru, metanu, azotu i argonu z gazów odpuszczanych z syntezy amoniaku. The subject of the invention is a method of leaching hydrogen, methane, nitrogen and argon from gases obtained from ammonia synthesis.
Przygotowanie mieszanki wodoroww-azotowej do syntezy amoniaku ma na celu otrzymanie, możliwie czystej sprężonej do ciśnienia procesu syntezy, mieszaniny wodoru i azotu w stosunku molowym około H2 : N2 = 3 : 1. Jednakże obróbka technologiczna klasycznego obecnie surowca do produkcji amoniaku (gazu ziemnego), prowadzi zawsze do większego lub mniejszego zanieczyszczania mieszanki syntezowej inertami, w tym przede wszystkim argonem i metanem.Preparation of a hydrogen-nitrogen mixture for ammonia synthesis is aimed at obtaining as pure as possible a synthesis process compressed to the pressure, a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen in a molar ratio of about H2: N 2 = 3: 1. However, the technological treatment of the currently classic raw material for the production of ammonia (natural gas ), always leads to greater or lesser contamination of the synthesis mixture with inerts, especially argon and methane.
Praktycznie technologia obróbki gazu ziemnego do mieszaniny azotowo-wodorowej prowadzi do zanieczyszczania jej argonem i metanem w około 0,5 - 1,8¾ objętościowych. WpΓowadzenie do obie gu syntezy amoniaku mieszanki syntezowej (H? : N? = 3 : 1) zanieczyszczonej metanem i argonem w liościacn 0,8 - 1,6¾ objętościwwycn pow^(^i^.je zanieczyszczanie gazu obiegowego syntezy metanem i argonem do około 10 - 20% objętościowych. In practice, the technology of treating natural gas into a nitrogen-hydrogen mixture leads to its contamination with argon and methane in about 0.5 - 1.8¾ vol. WpΓowadzenie to both over ammonia synthesis of the synthesis mixture (H?: N? = 3: 1) contaminated with methane and argon liościacn 0.8 - 1,6¾ objętościwwycn pow ^ (i ^ ^ .je fouling of the recycle synthesis gas and methane, argon to about 10 - 20% by volume Such amount of pollutants in synthesis gas has a negative impact on the energy indicators of the ammonia synthesis installation.
Powwtaje zatem problem utylizacji purge gazu, ponieważ ilość składników reaktywnych (wodoru i azotu) w wydmuchiwanym purge gazie z jednostki syntezy wynosi około 5% zdolności produkcyjnej instalacji. Problem utylizacji purge gazu należy obecnie rozpatrywać w kategoriach najbardziej optymalnej technologicznie i ekonomicznie metodzie odzysku poszczególnych jego składników. Głównym probl^em jest odzysk wodoru, którego jest w purge gazie około 60% objętoś^c^^wych. It is therefore necessary to temper the inerts from the recycle gas for ammonia synthesis. The total amount of inerts retracted from the synthesis loop must be the same per unit time as the amount of inerts fed into the fresh mix synthesis loop. On average, about 8% of the volume of the synthesis mixture in the form of gas purge is expelled from the ammonia synthesis plant, deteriorating the production results of the ammonia plant. Thus, the problem of gas purge utilization is repeated, since the amount of reactive components (hydrogen and nitrogen) in the purge gas blown from the synthesis unit is approximately 5% of the plant's production capacity. The problem of gas purge utilization should now be considered in terms of the most technologically and economically optimal method of recovering its individual components. The main problem is the recovery of hydrogen, which is about 60% by volume in the purge gas.

The simplest known methods of gas purge utilization consisted in using it for combustion with the use of combustion heat for heating purposes or for general needs in the technological process.
Pozostały gaz przepływa do góry separatora zachowując to samo ciśnienie.Another known method of utilizing purge gas, especially the hydrogen contained in it, is the separation of hydrogen gas from the purge through molecular sieves. The installation usually consists of four or five adsorbers and enables the recovery of about 80 - 95¾ of hydrogen contained in the purge gas. It is a pressure installation. Monsanto's method is based on the use of the phenomenon of the permeation (diffusion) of small gas (hydrogen) molecules through semi-permeable membranes (fibers). It allows the gas stream to be separated into two parts, i.e. a light gas (hydrogen) and a gas stream enriched in heavy components. The driving force for the process of penetration of raw gas components through semi-permeable fibers is the difference in partial pressures of the gas components on both sides of the membrane. The membranes are specially selected hollow fibers mounted in compact bundles built in pressure tanks in the form of a separator. The compressed gas passes through the separator and the hydrogen selectively penetrates through the fiber walls into their hollow center, reducing its pressure, and is discharged from the bottom of the separator. The remaining gas flows to the top of the separator maintaining the same pressure.
Optymalny skład odzyskanego wodoru to 91¾ H?, 8,0¾ Nj i Ar ♦ CH^ około 1¾. Another known method of utilizing the purge gas from the ammonia synthesis process is the low-temperature condensation of gas purge components, except for hydrogen. Purge, the stripped gas from the ammonia synthesis plant after depressurization is first directed to the ammonia leaching plant to about 1 ppm. The gas washed away from purge ammonia is then directed to the drying installation, where moisture is removed from the adsorption bed (aluz, molecular sieves) to the dew point level of about -60 * C. The gas washed from ammonia and the dried gas purge under the pressure of 1.6 - 2.5 MPa is directed to the argon apparatus operating according to the technology of low-temperature fractionation of liquefied gas purge. The argon apparatus consists of a cold exchanger and a separator column for separating the condensed gas purge components and hydrogen gas. The obtained hydrogen is directed to the synthesis gas compressor and further to the ammonia synthesis plant. This technology recovers approximately 95¾ of hydrogen from purge gas (syngas blown off). The optimal composition of the recovered hydrogen is 91¾ H?, 8.0¾ Nj, and Ar ♦ CH około about 1¾. The residual gas, after the released hydrogen, contains methane, argon and nitrogen and is sent for combustion. It is a method of utilization of the stripped syngas used by Petrocarbon.
The aim of the invention is the separation of hydrogen, methane and nitrogen, especially argon from the synthesis gas tempered in ammonia synthesis plants based on the process of air-steam reforming of the raw material (natural gas), i.e. in those plants where the ammonia production process does not use pure nitrogen from low-temperature air fractionation.
The method according to the invention consists in the fact that the synthesis gas, stripped from the ammonia synthesis installation, is directed to low-temperature separation into hydrogen, methane, nitrogen and argon after washing off the ammonia and drying it.
The installation of low-temperature gas separation (argon apparatus) consists of a cold exchanger, three columns and a multiplier circuit.
Otrzymany azot z niskotemperaturowego rozdziału gazu może byó stosowany również do regeneracji złoża adsorpcyjnego w węźle osuszania odpuszczanego gazu syntezowego .Synthesis gas released from ammonia synthesis is diaphragm cooled in a cold exchanger from hydrogen, methane and nitrogen streams leaving the low-temperature gas separation installation and is then directed to the first column, where at a temperature of about - 190 ° C hydrogen and partially nitrogen are separated from the liquefied gas . The hydrogen-nitrogen mixture drained from the top of the column, after passing through the cold exchanger, is directed directly after compression to the ammonia synthesis installation. The condensed liquid in the first column is directed to the second column, where the separation into liquid methane and a gaseous nitrogen-argon mixture is directed to the third column. Liquid methane with a purity of 90-96¾ by volume is discharged from the bottom of the second column and can be directed to natural gas for reforming. The nitrogen-argon gas mixture in the third column is condensed into liquid argon with a purity of 99.99% by volume and gaseous nitrogen or a nitrogen-argon mixture, which is discharged into the cold-forming nitrogen cycle and partly to a cold exchanger to cool the incoming stripped gas from ammonia synthesis. Nitrogen, after passing through the exchangers and compressed to 10.0 - 20.0 MPa, is a cold-forming factor in the entire process of separating synthesis gas into hydrogen, methane, nitrogen and argon. The obtained nitrogen from the low-temperature gas separation can also be used for the regeneration of the adsorption bed in the drying node of the stripped synthesis gas.
Tlen z argonu musi byó zawsze usuwany poprzez spalanie zatlenionego argonu w wodorze otrzymanym najczęściej z elektrolizy wody. The main advantage of low-temperature gas separation is the complete utilization of all its components and the production of oxygen-free argon. The resulting argon does not contain oxygen and is therefore competitive with the argon obtained from low-temperature air fractionation, which always contains a relatively large amount of oxygen. The argon oxygen must always be removed by burning oxygenated argon in hydrogen usually obtained from the electrolysis of water.
Another advantage of the method according to the invention is that it enables the technological implementation of the argon apparatus in ammonia plants where no nitrogen is used in the production process, and in plants where nitrogen is used, the relative independence of the argon apparatus from the operation of the oxygen plant.
The method of separating hydrogen, methane, nitrogen and argon from the synthesis gas stripped from the ammonia synthesis according to the invention is shown in Fig. 1, which shows a schematic diagram of the installation. The synthesis gas stream washed from ammonia to about 1 ppm NHj and dried to about 20 ppm Η 0 enters the cold exchanger 4 and is diaphragm cooled from the stream of hydrogen, methane and nitrogen exiting the low temperature gas separation plant. It then enters column 1, where the hydrogen gas is separated from the condensed remaining components of the gas purge. The stream of gaseous hydrogen is discharged from the head of column 1 to the cold exchanger 4, where it is heated from the gas purge feed stream and then directed outside to the ammonia synthesis plant.
The condensed cubic liquid containing methane, argon and nitrogen is directed to the second column 2, the so-called methane column, where the separation into liquid methane collected in the column 2 and a nitrogen-argon gas mixture takes place. The stream of liquid methane From column 2 is discharged to the cold exchanger 4, where it is heated from the gas purge stream and from the cold exchanger 4 it is directed outside the installation. The gaseous nitrogen-argon mixture from the top of column 2 is directed to column 3, the so-called argon column, in which there is separation into liquid argon collected in the head of the column and gaseous nitrogen withdrawn from the head of column 2. Liquid argon from the head of column 2 is discharged as a product . The released nitrogen from the top of column 3 is combined with circulating nitrogen (cold forming agent) and through the cold exchanger 5 and exchangers 6 and 7 is directed to the suction of the nitrogen compressor 10 in the cold forming circuit. Part of the nitrogen is given off from the cold forming circuit to the cold exchanger 4 for gas purge cooling. The low temperatures required for the technological process of synthesis gas separation are obtained in a compression-type cold-forming cycle for which nitrogen is the cold carrier. The compressed nitrogen is cooled down in the exchanger 7 and 6. Part of the nitrogen 9 after the exchanger 7 is directed to the expander, where energy is recovered, and the cold nitrogen 8 from the expander is directed to the exchanger 6 and 7, where the compressed nitrogen is cooled down in a diaphragm. the compressed nitrogen 11 is decompressed to an intermediate pressure, condenses and is directed to the condenser of column 2. From the condenser of column 2, liquid nitrogen is directed to the condenser of column 1 and to column 3 to the condenser or as reflux. The nitrogen from the condenser of column 1 and the recovered nitrogen from the head of column 3 through the cold exchanger 5 and the exchangers 6 and 7 are directed to the suction of the compressor 10 for circulating nitrogen. Part of the low-pressure nitrogen is released as a product via the cold exchanger 4.
