Abstract

The capsule (1) consists of a deformable membrane (2) with its base closed by a seal (3) to form an enclosed volume (V) for at least one substance (S) that is released when the seal is pierced by an integral rupturing component (4). After the seal has been pierced a mechanical pressure is applied to the membrane to expel the substance(s) from the capsule into a container that is fitted with a cap holding the capsule, enabling the substance(s) to be mixed with the container's contents.
