Abstract

The security closure for a plastics container (1), for sealing against unauthorized use before opening at first, has a tear-off tab (5) fitting in the projecting collar (6) of the security element around the upper edge of the container wall (3), with nominal fracture points (7) bonding it to the wall. The tab has battlement-shaped projections (12), with the outer surfaces (13a) to be covered by a fault-free label. The tab structure around the container opening gives a consistent thickness between the outer surfaces (13a) and the inner surface (9) without any contraction distortions at the surfaces covered by the label.
