Abstract

Household dry-cleaning washing machine comprising a tub (10) wherein a perforated drum (12) to store clothes is rotating and a closed circuit (14) to let a solvent like decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) circulating in an air stream across the drum. The circuit comprises a condenser (16), a heater (18) and a fan (20). At least a gas sensor (22) is provided to detect the solvent concentration in air, as well as to deliver a relevant data to an electronic device (38) to control the machine. The gas sensor (22) is an infrared device (IR) which is positioned outside the closed air circuit (14) and is connected therewith, in such a way that the gas solvent may be made to circulate along an optical path (28) wherein the solvent flows by absorbing IR energy.
