Opis wynalazkuDescription of the invention

The subject of the invention is a method for producing coatings on pipes, especially heat exchangers.

W celu zapewnienia skutecznej ochrony należy dodać do składu chemicznego stopu stosunkowo duże zawartości określonych pierwiastków, głównie Cr, Al i Si. Godinez-Azcuaga, M.A. Marcial-Amaro i J. Porcayo-Calderon w pracy „Ultrasonic characterization of nickel-chromium-base anticonrosive coating opublikowanej w Review of Progress in Quantitative Nondestructive Evaluation, s. 1285-1289, 1998 r., opisują sposób wytwarzania i własności powłok z proszków na bazie 50Ni-50Cr. Autorzy A. Tomiguchi, Y. Sochi, Y. Matsubara w pracy „Advantages of induction heat treatment in the application of self-fluxing alloy to boiler tubes opublikowanej w Materiałach 151h International Thermal Spray Conference, Nicea, Francja, 25-29 maja 1998 r., opisują sposób wykonania powłok na bazie niklu na powierzchni rur oraz w tej samej operacji po podgrzaniu rury metodą indukcyjną przetopienia położonej powłoki i zgięcia rury. Aktualnie stosowane metody natryskiwania powłok na rurach pozwalają otrzymać powłoki o dobrych własnościach jedynie w przypadku dobrego dostępu do pokrywanych elementów.Erosive-corrosive wear of heat exchanger tubes and power boiler components is considered one of the main causes of power boiler downtime. Most alloys designed for high-temperature operation are based on Ni, Co, and Fe. These alloys are easy to produce and have relatively high melting points. At temperatures exceeding approximately 550°C, an oxide layer with good protective properties does not form on the surface of these alloys. To ensure effective protection, relatively high contents of specific elements, primarily Cr, Al, and Si, must be added to the alloy's chemical composition. However, alloys with such a chemical composition have poor mechanical properties and cannot be used for load-bearing components. Two methods are used to address this problem: diffusion saturation of the component surface with specific elements and the formation of coatings on the surface of components operating at elevated temperatures. Nickel-based powder coatings are relatively common. In the case of pipe elements, the only possibility of making such coatings is spraying with simultaneous remelting, which in practice requires heating a large section of the pipe to a temperature close to the melting point of nickel-based powders, authors V.F. Godinez-Azcuaga, M.A. Marcial-Amaro and J. Porcayo-Calderon in their paper "Ultrasonic characterization of nickel-chromium-base anticonrosive coating" published in Review of Progress in Quantitative Nondestructive Evaluation, pp. 1285-1289, 1998, describe a method for manufacturing and properties of coatings from 50Ni-50Cr powders. The authors A. Tomiguchi, Y. Sochi, Y. Matsubara in their paper "Advantages of induction heat treatment in the application of self-fluxing alloy to boiler tubes" published in Proceedings of the 151h International Thermal Spray Conference, Nice, France, May 25-29, 1998, describe a method for making nickel-based coatings on the surface of pipes and in the same operation after heating the pipe by induction, melting the applied coating and bending the pipe. Currently used methods of spraying coatings on pipes allow for obtaining coatings with good properties only in the case of good access to the covered elements.

The invention is based on a method for producing coatings on pipes, particularly heat exchangers, by applying a coating to an unassembled heat exchanger pipe, cleaning the pipe surface and subjecting it to abrasive blasting. A primer layer is then sprayed with a powder containing 5-20% Al, preferably 5%, and the balance Ni to a thickness exceeding 0.4 mm. A coating is then cold-sprayed with a NiCrBSi powder containing 11-14% Cr to a thickness exceeding 0.5 mm. The resulting coating is heated with a gas burner or induction heater to melt the outer layer of the coating.

A beneficial effect of the invention is the ability to produce coatings on difficult-to-access components. The resulting coatings are characterized by improved resistance to erosive wear caused by solid particles contained in exhaust gases. Furthermore, the resulting coatings are more tight and therefore more corrosion-resistant than coatings sprayed using the arc or gas-powder spraying methods without remelting. With proper parameter selection, remelted coatings using the induction or gas method consist of a layer made of a base material with a structure appropriate for the spraying process and an outer coating layer, which, after remelting, is tight and has good resistance to erosive wear. Due to its structure, the coating layer made of the base material reduces thermal stresses generated during changes in component temperature caused by on-off cycles and daily changes in boiler load. After remelting, the outer coating layer forms a rigid sleeve with better mechanical properties than the base material.
