Description of the invention

The invention relates to a mechanical trap for attracting and exterminating rodents, especially rats. The trap according to the invention can be used wherever the control of rodents with chemical poisons could pose a threat to humans and animals.

There is a known trap for attracting and exterminating rodents, built in the form of a box in the shape of a cuboid. Such a trap has front and rear walls, a bottom and a cover, while the gable walls are two trapdoors that are pivotally mounted on pivots embedded in the front wall and the rear wall. In the known solution, the height of the trapdoor measured from the point of attachment to the pin to its lower edge is greater than the distance between the pin and the bottom of the trap. Inside the trap, in its central part, a platform in the form of a two-arm angle lever is mounted. The platform is mounted swingingly in the front and rear walls and is equipped with a sensor. The trap has a trigger mechanism, which is a rod equipped with two arms supporting the trapdoor and one arm that rests on the sensor.

According to the invention, the height of the trapdoor, measured from the mounting point on the pin to its lower edge, is smaller than the distance between the pin and the bottom of the trap. The trap has abutments on the inner surface of the bottom. Inside the trap, there are swinging two-arm platforms equipped with supports for supporting the trapdoor.

A trap made in this way for attracting and exterminating rodents is aesthetic, simple to build and easy to use.

The subject of the invention is shown in the embodiment in the drawing, in which fig. 1 shows the trap in longitudinal section, with the trapdoor on one side open and closed on the other side, fig. 2 shows a fragment of the trap in cross-section, and fig. 3 shows a fragment of the rear wall from the inside of the trap.

The trap for attracting and exterminating rodents is made of a box in the shape of a cuboid. The box has a bottom 1 and permanently attached to it front wall 2 and rear wall 3. From the top the trap has a removable cover 4, and the top walls are two pivotally mounted on pins 5 in walls 2 and 3 trapdoors 6. Height of trapdoors 6 measured from the pins 5 to its lower edge a is less than the distance of the pins 5 from the bottom 1 of the trap. On the inner surface of the bottom 1 there are two abutment projections 7. Inside the trap, at a slight distance from both ends of the box, above the bottom 1, in walls 2 and 3, two two-arm platforms are pivoted on the pivots 8 9. Each of the platforms 9 is equipped with a bracket 10 to support the open trapdoor 6. A handle 12 is pivoted in the hinge 11 to the rear wall 3, for hooking the attracting food cube on it, a lock 13 is rotatably mounted in the cover 4 to block it, equipped with a bolt 14. to the longitudinal axis of the trap, while with the cover 4 locked, the bolt 14 extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the trap and projects outward through an oblong opening 15 in the front wall 2. The bolt 14 has an opening 16 for receiving a seal therein.
