Abstract

A steam oven device comprising at least one cooking cavity, at least one cavity door moveable between a first position in which the cooking cavity is closed and a second position in which the cooking cavity is open, a control panel having at least one control element for controlling the cooking operation, a boiler means for vaporising water and a water tank for receiving water to be vaporised by the boiler means is described. This steam oven device is to be improved in order to maximise the size of the cooking cavity, reduce the manufacturing costs and prevent hygiene problems resulting from water remaining in the water tank between subsequent cooking cycles. For achieving this object the steam oven device is characterised by a drawer-like water tank receiving slot for receiving the water tank, wherein said receiving slot is horizontally arranged below the control panel but above the cooking cavity in such a manner that the water tank received in the receiving slot is arranged behind the cavity door taking its first position.
