Opis wynalazkuDescription of the invention
Przedmiotem wynalazku jest kalejdoskop, stanowiący zabawkę edukacyjną i mający zastosowanie w pracowniach fizycznych, do celów dydaktycznych, jako przyrząd do objaśniania zasady powstawania i właściwości obrazów pozornych powstających w zwierciadłach płaskich. The subject of the invention is a kaleidoscope, which is an educational toy and is used in physical laboratories, for didactic purposes, as a device for explaining the principle of formation and properties of phantom images formed in plane mirrors.
The well-known kaleidoscope is described in the book by Krzysztof Ernst entitled "The physics of play, games and toys, published by Wydawnictwo Prószyński i Spółka in Warsaw in 2002, and consists of three rectangular flat mirrors forming the side walls of a normal triangular prism, facing inward with their reflecting surfaces. The mirrors are placed inside the tube, closed on one side with a transparent window with an annular opaque diaphragm, and on the other side with two discs - matte and transparent, forming a chamber in which there are transparent shards of glass or plastic of various colors. During the rotation of the tube, these fragments arrange them in random patterns, and their apparent images with hexagonal symmetry, obtained as a result of multiple reflections from the mirrors, are viewed through a transparent window with an annular opaque diaphragm.
The same book also discloses a kaleidoscope that differs from the one previously described in that there is a polarizer in front of the matte disc, and the other end of the tube is closed with an analyzer, twisted by 90 ° in relation to the polarizer. Thanks to this, one can additionally observe the distribution of stresses in the fragments, which, as a result of the stresses generated during their production, twist the plane of light polarization.
W pierwszym z opisanych kalejdoskopów elementy te zastąpiono przezroczystą zamkniętą rurką wypełnioną cieczą o dużej lepkości, zawierającą skrawki barwnej folii, opadające powoli i tworzące przypadkowe wzory podczas obracania rurą. W trzecim z opisanych rodzajów kalejdoskopów do soczewki płasko-wypukłej przylega od jej płaskiej strony dodatkowa soczewka płasko wypukła o dużej krzywiźnie, deformująca obraz otoczenia przed kalejdoskopem. Also in the same book there are described three more kaleidoscopes with the same mirror system and a transparent window and an annular opaque diaphragm, differing in the lack of a matte and transparent disc and a chamber with colored debris. In the first of the described kaleidoscopes, these elements were replaced by a transparent closed tube filled with a viscous liquid, containing scraps of colored foil that fell slowly and formed random patterns when the tube was rotated. The second of the described kaleidoscopes uses a flat-convex lens with a focal length shorter than the length of the tube. In the space between the mirrors, this lens gives a real image of the surroundings in front of the kaleidoscope. In the third of the described types of kaleidoscopes, an additional flat-convex lens with high curvature is adjacent to the flat-convex lens, deforming the image of the environment in front of the kaleidoscope. In all these three kaleidoscopes, the images of the scraps in the tube or the surroundings are duplicated by the system of three rectangular mirrors, forming the side walls of the normal triangular prism and facing inward reflecting surfaces, resulting in a multiplied hexagonal symmetry image viewed through a transparent window with an opaque annular diaphragm .
Również w książce Józefa Maciejewskiego i Pawła Rukuszewicza pt. „Zbiór zadań z fizyki cz. III, Optyka, wydanej przez Państwowe Zakłady Wydawnictw Szkolnych w Warszawie w 1968 r. oraz Douglasa Goodmana pt. „Optics Demonstrations with the Overhead Projector, wydanej przez Optical Society of America w Waszyngtonie w 2000 r., a także w katalogu pt. „Edmund Scientific, 1994 Annual Reference Catalog for Optics, Science and Education, wydanym przez firmę Edmund Scientific w Barrington w 1994 r. ujawnione są kalejdoskopy tak samo zbudowane i dają ce takie same obrazy, jak pierwszy z przedstawionych w stanie techniki kalejdoskop, opisany w książce Krzysztofa Ernsta. Also in the book by Józef Maciejewski and Paweł Rukuszewicz entitled "Collection of tasks in physics, part. III, Optics, published by Państwowe Zakłady Wydawnictw Szkolnych in Warsaw in 1968 and Douglas Goodman entitled "Optics Demonstrations with the Overhead Projector, published by the Optical Society of America in Washington in 2000, and in the catalog entitled Edmund Scientific, 1994 Annual Reference Catalog for Optics, Science and Education, published by Edmund Scientific of Barrington in 1994, discloses kaleidoscopes of the same design and yielding the same images as the first prior art kaleidoscope described in a book by Krzysztof Ernst.
All kaleidoscopes known from the prior art are characterized by the fact that they give flat images.
The essence of the solution according to the invention consists in the fact that the kaleidoscope has six trapezoidal-shaped flat mirrors forming the side walls of two normal truncated pyramids of different heights and a common triangular base, with the mirror reflecting surfaces facing inward. The symmetry axis of the pyramids coincides with the axis of the opaque tube, in which the mirrors are held by two spacer discs.
Podczas obracania rury odłamki te układają się w przypadkowe wzory, a ich przestrzenne pozorne obrazy o symetrii sześciokątnej i translacyjnej, otrzymaneThe end of the pipe in the higher prism is closed with a transparent window with an opaque annular diaphragm, and the other end is closed by two discs - matte and transparent, separated by a spacer sleeve and forming a chamber with transparent glass or plastic fragments of different colors. When the pipe is rotated, these fragments form random patterns, and their spatial apparent images with hexagonal and translational symmetry obtained

Zaletą kalejdoskopu według wynalazku jest możliwość oglądania obrazów przestrzennych i wyjaśnienia zasady ich powstawania, a przez to zwiększenie zakresu zastosowań edukacyjnych i atrakcyjności przyrządu.The advantage of the kaleidoscope according to the invention is the possibility of viewing spatial images and explaining the principle of their formation, thus increasing the range of educational applications and the attractiveness of the device.
1 przedstawia kalejdoskop w przekroju osiowym, natomiast fig. 2 i fig. 3 przedstawiają kalejdoskop w przekroju poprzecznym odpowiednio, pł aszczyzną A-A i B-B.The subject of the invention is shown in the embodiment in the drawing, in which fig. 1 shows the kaleidoscope in axial section, while fig. 2 and fig. 3 show the kaleidoscope in cross-section in the plane A-A and B-B, respectively.
