PL PLThe method of manufacturing blown celluloid handles for umbrellas and walking sticks according to the present invention consists in the fact that the extrusion of a commonly used smooth celluloid tube into a suitable form is carried out not by direct gas inflation, but by pouring a certain amount of ammonium carbonate (e.g. 5-10 g) into the tube and placing this tube in a prepared, freely carved metal form consisting of two parts. The closed mold with the tube inside is compressed under a press and placed into boiling water. Under the influence of heat, the carbonate in the tube produces gases that expand and soften the tube, expanding its walls and forcing them into the recesses in the mold walls. After a certain time, say 20 minutes, the press and mold are removed from the hot water and cooled, as a result of which the handle hardens and can be removed from the mold.
