Description

Przyklad II. Blone, wykonana z mniej wiecej 3 czesci wagowych nitrocelulozy i 1 czesci wagowej kamfory dziurkuje sie we¬ dlug przykladu I i kladzie na pas skóry lub plótna. Nastepnie Mone w celu specznienia wzglednie czesciowego rozpuszczenia , jej smaruje sie, albo jeszcze lepiej powleka sie przez rozpylenie rozpuszczalnikiem, poczem bez uzycia cisnienia wzglednie prasy naste¬ puje silne polaczenie kleiwa z podlozem. PL PLDue to the disadvantages of using permanent glue, such as its short shelf life when stored in open or not tightly closed containers, the harmful volatilization of large amounts of solvents, and the necessity of frequently reapplying the glue several times during gluing, it was suggested to glue various materials, such as leather, fabrics, glass, wood or metals, using permanent glue, especially in the form of films. The gluing of membranes onto such materials or the gluing of various materials with adhesive membranes can be carried out by bringing the membranes into a plastic state and making them adhesive by wetting them with a solvent or a swelling agent, or with a solution containing a solvent or a swelling agent for these membranes, or by immersing them in a solvent or solutions so that when the solvent evaporates, the adhesive bonds with all kinds of materials. The gluing process takes place more or less quickly, depending on the swelling capacity of the material from which the membranes are made and on the properties of the solvent used, with which the membranes are coated or immersed. It has been found that the swelling or gluing capacity of the membranes can be significantly increased by using holes (perforations) of any shape, thus creating a kind of sieve or net from the membrane. This ensures that the solvent, which causes the swelling of the adhesive, gradually makes its way inside; The adhesive is pressed not only from above and below, i.e., from the surface of the film, but also simultaneously from both sides with each individual particle of the entire film, which, due to the perforation, is divided into a large number of such particles. Besides significantly accelerating the initial gluing process, perforation has various other advantages. When gluing ordinary smooth film, the disadvantage is often that the films, especially larger sheets, contain air between themselves and the material being glued, which can cause the softened films to fold and the bond to be uneven. Perforated membranes, on the other hand, adhere immediately over their entire surface, because air can escape through round holes, slits or other shapes of openings in the membrane when the membrane is applied. With the appropriate shape and arrangement of holes in the membrane, it is also possible to omit immersion or double-sided lubrication of the membrane, which facilitates the handling of the rapidly swelling material and allows for the avoidance of excess solvent, which could, through dripping, damage the possibly sensitive material being bonded. Namely, if perforated and possibly additionally profiled membranes are placed on the material to be bonded with the membrane and the free surface of the membrane is lubricated with a solvent, the solvent penetrates through the holes and spreads, due to the formation of surface forces acting between the membrane and the material being bonded and between any profiles of the membrane, also on the lower surface of the membrane, causing it to swell and stick. When using profiled or perforated membranes for gluing, it is finally possible to use membranes made of a material that, with smooth surfaces, would not be suitable for a certain purpose due to too slow swelling and defective initiation of the gluing process. The surface design of the Mon-web according to the present invention thus allows for a significant increase in the application of adhesive material in the form of films. Example 1. To join two pieces of leather, for example in the production of footwear or driving belts, a Mon-web of approximately 0.13 mm thickness can be used, consisting of cellulose acetate and a suitable softening agent or a combination of plasticized cellulose acetate and plasticized nitrocellulose. Solvents or agents serving to soften the Mon-web, causing swelling, are allowed to enter the interior of the film by providing the Mon-web with a dense network of holes, slits, or other shaped incisions, produced by means of needles, knives, or punches of any kind. The film is then dipped in a suitable solvent or swelling agent and placed between the pieces of leather to be joined, whereupon the film is glued, preferably by simultaneous pressing. Example II. A film made of approximately 3 parts by weight of nitrocellulose and 1 part by weight of camphor is perforated as in Example I and placed on a strip of leather or canvas. Then, to swell or partially dissolve the material, it is smeared or, even better, sprayed with a solvent, after which a strong bond is achieved between the adhesive and the substrate without the use of pressure or a press. If this substrate is to be immediately bonded with the next layer of material, a new layer of material, moistened with a nickel solvent or swelling agent, is placed on the adhesive on the substrate while it is still soft and not yet dry, resulting in a double layer of material.
