Znane skrzynki przyłącza elektrycznego wyposażone w zawias, który utworzony jest pomiędzy obudową a pokrywą. Zawiasy składają się z części sworzniowej ułożyskowanej w części chwytowej oraz części panewkowej. Konstrukcje zawiasu można podzielić na dwie grupy. Pierwsza grupa to zawiasy ruchowe nierozłączane bez możliwości wyjęcia pokrywy. Drugą grupę stanowią zawiasy ruchowe rozłączne posiadające możliwość wyjęcia pokrywy.
