Abstract

The protection device has a profile part (9) that is made of polyurethane and brushes (6) that include bristles (7), which are aligned parallel and/or transverse to a surface to be machined. The profile part overlaps profiled edges (3.1, 4.1) of the plate or the housing part to protect surfaces that lie outside of the surface to be machined so that the plate or the housing part is not contacted with the surface to be machined.
