Description of the invention

The subject of the invention is a height adjustable leg, especially for furniture.

From the Polish utility model application WU 109555, an adjustable leg is known, the upper part of which is a nut with an internal thread and a head in the form of a sleeve, topped with a ring at the top. On the other hand, the lower part of the foot is in the shape of a screw and consists of two permanently connected parts, a sleeve with an external thread and a support foot.

The previously known solutions did not provide a stable height adjustment of the legs, because it was possible to lower their height under the influence of the weight of the element placed on them.

The above problem is solved by the height-adjustable leg of the present invention. Moreover, it makes it possible to disconnect or connect the elements of the foot under the influence of gravity.

A height-adjustable leg composed of a nut with an internal thread and a main screw screwed into it, ending in the lower part with a support foot, according to the invention, characterized by the fact that the lower part of the nut ends with a first spline, and the main screw is equipped with a groove running vertically on the surface of the main screw superimposed is the crown bushing with at least one projection provided on its surface adjacent to the surface of the lead screw, the key engaging the groove, the crown bushing having a second splines, and the surfaces of the first and second splines are analogous.

Preferably, the inside of the support foot is provided with rosette-like reinforcement ribs.

Preferably, the pitch of the threads is 15 mm.

The subject of the invention has been presented in the embodiment in the drawing, in which fig. 1 shows the stem in a side view, fig. 2 - a fragment of the main screw with an applied crown sleeve in an axonometric view from above, and fig. 3 - the base in an axonometric view from below.

The height-adjustable leg consists of a nut 1 with an internal thread and a main screw 2 screwed into it, ending in the lower part with a support foot 3. The lower part of the nut 1 ends with the first spline 4, and the main screw 2 is covered with a crown sleeve 5 with at least with one projection 6 located on its surface adjacent to the surface of the main screw 2. The projection 6 is inserted into the groove 7 running vertically on the surface of the main screw 2. The crown bushing 5 is equipped on the side of the nut 1 with a second spline 8. Inside the support foot 3 there are reinforcing ribs 9 are arranged in rosettes. The pitch of the threads used in the stem according to the invention is 15 mm.

The solution in question uses a steep multiple thread blocked with a special crown sleeve (5). The thread-bendingness is a feature which means that the disconnection (or connection) of the elements of such a leg occurs spontaneously under the influence of gravity, when the axis of the leg runs perpendicular to the ground. This solution makes it possible to automatically adjust the leg to a given height within the design range of adjustment and lock the position through a special, locking crown sleeve 5.

The main screw 3, by appropriately shaping its one end (foot 3), is an element in direct contact with the ground, which in the final phase allows for manual adjustment of the support force depending on individual needs through a special design. The nut 2 constitutes a uniform body, which is an element in direct contact (and connected by means of additional connectors) with the plane of the furniture or other object to be set. At its lower edge, the nut 2 has a special shape in the form of a first splines 4, which, by meshing with an analogous surface of the second splines 8 of the locking crown sleeve 5, ensures safe and durable protection of the connector against the possibility of its automatic or forced deregulation.
