Osnowa składa się z mieszaniny proszków Fe-Mn-Cu-Sn-C w ilości od 80 do 95% mas. i twardych cząstek fazy ceramicznej SiC w ilości od 5 do 20% mas, przy czy mieszanina proszków Fe-Mn-Cu-Sn-C zawiera: 77% żelaza, 7,5% żelazomanganu wysokowęglowego, 7,5% żelazomanganu niskowęglowego, 8% brązu cynowego. Mieszanki homogenizowano w młynku kulowym przez 8, 30 i 120 godzin, a następnie spiekano metodą prasowania na gorąco w temperaturze 900°C, pod ciśnieniem 35 MPa i w czasie 3 min. A method of manufacturing a matrix for metal-diamond tools, characterized in that hard particles of the SiC ceramic phase in an amount of 5 to 20% by weight are introduced into a mixture of Fe-Mn-Cu-Sn-C powders in an amount of 80 to 95% by weight, and then the whole is subjected to grinding in a ball mill to obtain a grain size of 50 to 60 μm, and then sintered by hot pressing under a pressure of 35 MPa at a temperature of 900-950°C and for 3-10 min., wherein the mixture of Fe-Mn-Cu-Sn-C powders contains 77% iron, 7.5% high-carbon ferromanganese, 7.5% low-carbon ferromanganese, 8% tin bronze.
