Opis wynalazkuDescription of the invention

The invention relates to a preform for a protective element, a method for manufacturing a preform for a protective element, and the use of a preform for a protective element. The invention finds applications in construction and defense, particularly as protective measures, including fire and/or explosion protection.

Covering elements made of metal sheets, with cavities that can be filled with functional material and are widely used, especially in the field of fire and explosion safety.

Screening elements have a variety of applications in fire safety. They provide an effective barrier preventing the spread of fire and smoke within buildings. They are often used in corridors, open spaces, and escape routes, playing a key role in ensuring safe evacuation. Additionally, screens, such as fire curtains, are used to divide fire zones, reducing potential material losses. They are also used to protect stairwells and openings in walls and ceilings, providing effective protection against the effects of fire.

Explosion protection enclosures, also known as explosion curtains, play an important role in industrial safety. They provide an effective barrier that prevents the spread of potentially hazardous substances and minimizes the effects of an explosion. Commonly used in areas at risk of explosions, such as industrial plants and chemical warehouses, explosion curtains protect personnel and infrastructure from the effects of explosions. They are often installed in areas where there is a risk of sudden release of flammable gases or dust. In industrial buildings, these curtains can also be used to separate zones, limiting the spread of potentially hazardous substances.

Dzięki swojej skuteczności, elementy osłonowe przeciwpożarowe i przeciwwybuchowe są kluczowym elementem systemów bezpieczeństwa przemysłowego, wspierając ochronę życia ludzkiego oraz mienia przed skutkami pożarów i wybuchów.Thanks to their effectiveness, fire and explosion protection elements are a key element of industrial safety systems, supporting the protection of human life and property against the effects of fires and explosions.

One method of producing such casing elements is to introduce a pressurized fluid into the interior of a previously produced casing element preform.

W opisie chińskiego wzoru użytkowego CN210422413U ujawniono urządzenie do zapobiegania i kontrolowania pożarów. Chinese utility model CN210422413U discloses a device for preventing and controlling fires. The device includes a fire roller shutter, wherein the shutter comprises two opposing mounting frames. A freely rotating shaft is positioned between the mounting frames. The outer surface of the shaft is equipped with a fire roller shutter. One end of the fire roller shutter is mounted on the shaft, while the other end is equipped with a counterweight rod. The fire roller shutter is coiled and tied with a rope. In the event of a fire, the fire burns the rope, allowing the fire roller shutter to automatically unfold under the influence of the counterweight rod, isolating the fire area.

The subject of U.S. Patent No. US7963075B2 is an inflatable barrier system for doors or other openings, which consists of a frontal shield with a bone-shaped cross-section, inflated with gas and filled with hardening foam. The shield is connected to an inflatable rear array of tubular air beams configured with a self-sealant. Both the fabric shield and the rear array of tubular air beams are connected to a gas source for inflation. The frontal shield is configured to provide frontal resistance to specified levels of pressure, cutting, puncture, fire, chemical, and ballistic attacks. The system is used to close the door against such attacks by deploying and inflating the system within the opening so that the edges on either side of the opening are retained between the arcs of the corresponding ends of the bone-shaped frontal shield profile.

European patent application EP2110189A1 describes a method for manufacturing a chamber element. This involves forming two sheets of metal with the desired contour, then joining the corresponding contours together through a welding operation to create a hermetic cavity. One of the sheets is equipped with a valve allowing the introduction of pressurized air. In the next step, high-pressure air is introduced through the valve into the thus-created chamber element preform, which deforms the sheets within their plastic limits, resulting in a deformed chamber element.

The subject of international patent application WO2021124093A1 is a method for manufacturing a multi-chamber structural element, in which, to form a multi-chamber structural element with radially extending chamber profiles from a center defined by a junction of the chamber profiles, at least three chamber profile preforms are provided in successive steps, each chamber profile preform comprising two walls made of a sheet of metal material, arranged in substantially parallel planes with a gap between them, the edges of the individual walls being aligned with each other, and a valve being arranged on at least one wall. In a subsequent step, the unconnected wall edges of each of the chamber profile preforms are sealed by means of a seal to form a closed, airtight cavity within the chamber profile preform, and a pressurized fluid is then introduced through the valve into the interior space of the chamber profile preform to form a deformed chamber profile. In the next step of the method, at least three chamber profile preforms or chamber profiles are joined together in the region of corresponding inner edges of the chamber profile preform or chamber profile, proximal to the joining axis, along at least part of the inner edges.

The technical problem posed by this invention is to develop a method for manufacturing a protective element that will ensure the production of a protective element with the desired properties and intended geometry while maintaining high dimensional accuracy. It is desirable that the method for manufacturing the protective element be characterized by a limited number of technological steps and be carried out without the use of specialized and complex equipment. This will translate directly into economic benefits consisting of a simplified, less time-consuming, and therefore less expensive production process. It is also desirable that the method for manufacturing the protective element be characterized by low material consumption and allow for the production of a protective element with a wide range of geometric parameters, particularly with varying heights and spatial shapes, with both symmetrical and asymmetrical characteristics. It is also important to provide a method for manufacturing the protective element that allows for easy modification of the protective element's shape within a wide range of geometric parameters, without the need to rearrange the production equipment.

The technical problem posed by the present invention is also to propose a preform for a protective element that will be used in the production of the protective element and that will require a limited number of operations to form the protective element. It is also desirable that the protective element formed from the preform for the protective element performs fire and/or explosion barrier functions, protecting against damage to structural elements of buildings or providing separation of the area affected by fire, while also being characterized by increased strength and resistance to aggressive external conditions, such as high temperatures resulting from a spreading fire or a shock wave resulting from a nearby explosion.

The first subject of the invention is a casing element preform comprising at least two chamber element preforms, each chamber element preform comprising a first wall and a second wall made of sheet metal, arranged with a gap between them, the edges of the individual walls being connected by means of an edge seal, and wherein a valve is provided on at least one wall of one of the chamber element preforms, characterized in that at least one wall of each chamber element preform is provided with at least one communication opening, the chamber element preforms facing each other with their respective walls so that the preforms are connected to each other by the circumferential edges of their communication openings by a circumferential seal, and which at least first and second connected chamber element preforms enclose a hermetically closed internal space of the casing element preform.

The preform of the covering element according to the present invention is an intermediate element in the production of a covering element which may take the form of a construction element, in particular a protective element in the form of a fire or explosion barrier.

Dzięki zastosowaniu uszczelnień obwodowych i uszczelnień krawędziowych uzyskana została szczelna, hermetyczna przestrzeń wewnętrzna preformy elementu osłonowego, co daje możliwość wypełnienia przestrzeni wewnętrznej czynnikiem rozprężającym. The shielding element preform is a structurally simple element, containing components with repeatable features in the form of chamber preform modules, which is an economic advantage and increases the reliability of the technology. Connecting the chamber preforms together via the peripheral edges of their communication openings creates a structure resembling a folded bellows. This design takes up little space and can be placed in an out-of-sight location in the room, so that in a safe environment, the shielding element preform does not affect the comfort of use and maintains the desired aesthetics. The use of circumferential and edge seals creates a tight, airtight interior space of the shielding element preform, allowing for the filling of the internal space with an expansion medium.

The use of an expansion medium within the tight, airtight interior space of the shielding element preform has a beneficial effect on the shielding element manufacturing process, reducing the number of steps and the machinery required. Creating a shielding element only requires the step of initiating vapor generation and/or increasing the volume of the expansion medium. This can be achieved by heating the shielding element preform, as well as by subjecting the shielding element preform to vibration or a violent impact, for example, as a result of the primary shock wave generated by an explosion. The above-mentioned actions are intended to initiate a chemical reaction or physical change that increases the internal pressure within the tight, airtight interior space, thereby deforming the walls of the chamber preform, which are components of the shielding element preform. In a fire or explosion hazard, for example, due to elevated temperatures, the shielding element preform expands in volume, transforming it from a folded bellows into an unfolded bellows. A preform of a shielding element placed, for example, in the area of a door frame expands in volume, deforming into a shielding element, thus ensuring isolation of the fire-affected room from the safe room. Thanks to communication openings located in an area offset from the central area of the chamber element preform walls, it is possible to obtain various geometries of the deformed shielding element depending on the needs.

The use of a check valve allows the expansion medium to be introduced into the enclosure preform, preventing its escape. The use of a safety valve further enhances the safety of the enclosure manufacturing operation by preventing excessive internal pressure buildup within the sealed, airtight interior space of the enclosure preform, which could lead to rupture of seals or walls. Furthermore, the use of a control valve allows for the adjustment of the threshold pressure above which the valve allows vapors to pass through the sealed, airtight interior space. This allows for the adjustment of the deformation degree of the enclosure preform walls, thus allowing for the modification of the final enclosure shape.

Using water as an expansion agent further enhances the safety of the shielding element manufacturing process by preventing the generation of harmful vapors. Using the expansion agent in a tank made of, for example, thin glass allows for the generation of vapors or an increase in volume through a sudden impact on the shielding element preform, which simplifies and streamlines the shielding element manufacturing process and ensures spontaneous deformation of the shielding element preform during explosions. Furthermore, using an expansion agent in the form of plastic foam-forming compounds (e.g., PUR) also provides the resulting shielding element with additional functionalities, such as increased compressive strength or increased thermal insulation.

Przykład 1Example 1

Pierwszy przykład wykonania preformy 1 elementu osłonowego według niniejszego wynalazku został schematycznie przedstawiony w widoku przekrojowym na fig. 1. 2a i 2b. Po odkształceniu preformy 1 elementu osłonowego według pierwszego przykładu wykonania, element 10 osłonowy stanowi barierę przeciwpożarową zamontowaną we framudze okiennej.A first embodiment of a covering element preform 1 according to the present invention is schematically shown in a cross-sectional view in Fig. 1. The covering element preform 1 comprises two converging chamber element preforms 2 connected to each other via communication openings 7. Each of the component chamber element preforms 2 has a square shape with rounded corners in a front view as shown in Figs. 2a and 2b. After deformation of the covering element preform 1 according to the first embodiment, the covering element 10 constitutes a fire barrier mounted in a window frame.

The illustrated example of a casing element preform 1 was produced by a method for producing a casing element preform 1 according to the present invention, which comprises a step in which a first wall 3 and a second wall 4 of two chamber element preforms 2 are produced. The walls 3, 4 made of sheet metal are arranged in substantially parallel planes with a gap between them. The edges of the individual walls 3, 4 of each of the chamber element preforms 2 are aligned with each other, and a valve 5 is arranged on the wall 3 of the first one chamber element preform 2. The location of the valve 5 in the casing element preform 1 does not limit the scope of the present invention, provided that fluid communication with the interior of the casing element preform 1 is ensured. The location of the valve 5 is also not limiting the scope of the present invention, therefore the valve 5 may be placed in any area on the sheet metal from which the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of any of the component chamber element preforms 2 are made. The valve 5 of the casing element preform 1 basically fulfills two tasks: firstly, it constitutes an access element for the expansion medium 9 introduced into the tight, hermetic inner space 8 of the casing element preform 1, secondly, it constitutes a regulating element during the production of the casing element 10, which will be described in more detail later in this description.

In the next step, a communication opening 7 was made on the wall 3 of the first one preform 2 of the chamber element and on the wall 4 of the second second preform of the chamber element. In this embodiment, the communication openings 7 are formed by machining technology, such as drilling, in the central location of the walls 3, 4 and have the shape of a circle, the area of which does not exceed 2% of the area of the corresponding wall 3, 4. The shape and size of the communication openings 7 as well as the method of their production do not constitute a limitation of the invention and in alternative embodiments they may have a shape, e.g. oval, rectangular, elongated, their area may exceed 2% of the total area of each of the walls 3, 4, and they may be made using another technique, e.g. cut using thermal, laser or water jet techniques, provided that tight communication between the internal spaces of the component preforms 2 of the chamber element is ensured.

In the next step, the peripheral edges of the communication opening 7 of one preform 2 of the chamber element are connected with the peripheral edges of the communication opening 7 of the other preform 2 of the chamber element via the peripheral seal 6b.

In the next step, the unconnected edges of the walls 3, 4 of each of the two preforms 2 of the chamber element are sealed by means of an edge seal 6a to form a tight, airtight internal empty space 8 between the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of one preform 1 of the chamber element and the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of the second preform of the chamber element, which are connected to each other by means of communication openings 7.

Sealing is performed on the edges of the sheet metal forming the walls 3, 4 of each of the preforms 2 of the chamber element after they are assembled together, and on the peripheral edges of the communication openings 7. In the present embodiment, sealing is performed on all peripheral edges of the assembled walls 3, 4 of the preforms 2 of the chamber element, as well as on the peripheral edges of the corresponding communication openings 7.

In the present embodiment, sealing was effected by welding corresponding edges together to form circumferential welds. Sealing of all said edges results in the formation of a closed inner space 8 (tight and airtight) in the casing element preform 1, as shown in the cross-section in Fig. 1. The type of seal 6a, 6b in this case does not constitute a limitation of the scope of the present invention, and in alternative embodiments any type of seal 6a, 6b can be used, provided that a tight, airtight inner space 8 is formed in the casing element preform 1, such as formed by welding, soldering, gluing, pressing, and in the case of the edge seal 6a also by bending.

1.In this way, a preform 1 of the covering element is obtained, the structure of which is shown in Fig. 1.

Alternatywna kolejność przeprowadzania etapów wytwarzania preformy 1 elementu osłonowego może być zatem następująca:The order of carrying out the individual steps of manufacturing the preform 1 of the casing element does not constitute a limitation of the invention and may be different in alternative embodiments, provided that the internal space of the manufactured preform 1 of the casing element is tight and airtight so that it is possible to manufacture a casing element 10 using it. An alternative order of carrying out the steps of manufacturing the preform 1 of the casing element may therefore be as follows:

- wytwarza się ścianę 3 pierwszą i ścianę 4 drugą dwóch preform 2 elementu komorowego,- the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of two preforms 2 of the chamber element are produced,

- na ścianie 3 pierwszej jednej preformy 2 elementu komorowego i na ścianie 4 drugiej drugiej preformy elementu komorowego wykonuje się otwór 7 komunikacyjny,- a communication hole 7 is made on the wall 3 of the first preform 2 of the chamber element and on the wall 4 of the second preform of the chamber element,

- uszczelnia się niepołączone krawędzie ścian 3, 4 odpowiednich preform 2 elementu komorowego za pośrednictwem uszczelnienia 6a krawędziowego,- the unconnected edges of the walls 3, 4 of the respective preforms 2 of the chamber element are sealed by means of the edge seal 6a,

- łączy się ze sobą krawędzie obwodowe odpowiednich otworów 7 komunikacyjnych preform 2 elementu komorowego za pośrednictwem uszczelnienia 6b obwodowego dla określenia szczelnej, hermetycznej przestrzeni 8 wewnętrznej preformy 1 elementu osłonowego.- the peripheral edges of the corresponding communication openings 7 of the preform 2 of the chamber element are connected to each other by means of a peripheral seal 6b to define a tight, airtight internal space 8 of the preform 1 of the casing element.

Inna, alternatywna kolejność przeprowadzania etapów wytwarzania preformy 1 elementu osłonowego może być następująca:Another, alternative sequence of steps for manufacturing the preform 1 of the casing element may be as follows:

- wytwarza się ścianę 3 pierwszą i ścianę 4 drugą dwóch preform 2 elementu komorowego,- the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of two preforms 2 of the chamber element are produced,

Istnieje również możliwość, aby etapy w których:It is also possible that the stages in which:

- uszczelnia się niepołączone krawędzie ścian 3, 4 odpowiednich preform 2 elementu komorowego za pośrednictwem uszczelnienia 6a krawędziowego,- the unconnected edges of the walls 3, 4 of the respective preforms 2 of the chamber element are sealed by means of the edge seal 6a,

Następnie łączy się niepołączone krawędzie ścian 3, 4 drugiej preformy 2 elementu komorowego i tak dalej.- the peripheral edges of the corresponding communication openings 7 of the preform 2 of the chamber element are connected to each other via the circumferential seal (6b) made alternately. In such a case, the unconnected edges of the walls 3, 4 of the first preform 2 of the chamber element are sealed successively, then the peripheral edges of the communication openings 7 of the second wall 4 of the first preform 2 of the chamber element and the first wall 3 of the second preform 2 of the chamber element are connected to each other. Then, the unconnected edges of the walls 3, 4 of the second preform 2 of the chamber element are connected, and so on.

Przedstawiona na fig. 1 preforma 1 elementu osłonowego zawiera zatem dwie preformy 2 elementu komorowego, przy czym każda preforma 2 elementu komorowego obejmuje ścianę 3 pierwszą i ścianę 4 drugą, rozmieszczone względem siebie w zasadniczo równoległych płaszczyznach z zachowaniem luki pomiędzy sobą. The casing element preform 1 shown in Fig. 1 thus comprises two chamber element preforms 2, each chamber element preform 2 comprising a first wall 3 and a second wall 4, arranged in substantially parallel planes with a gap between them. The edges of the individual walls 3, 4 of each chamber element preform 2 are convergent with each other. Identical communication openings 7 are arranged on the first wall 3 of one chamber element preform 2 and on the second wall 4 of the second chamber element preform 2.

In the hermetically closed inner space 8 of the preform 1 of the casing element there is an expansion agent 9. In the present embodiment, the expansion agent 9 is glycerine, which was introduced through the valve 5 into the interior of the preform 1 of the casing element to a height of approximately 10 cm, in an amount of a few grams at an ambient temperature of 20°C to maintain its liquid state. The expansion agent 9 is therefore introduced into the interior of the preform 1 of the casing element after the step of sealing the edges of the walls 3, 4 by means of the edge seal 6a and after connecting the peripheral edges of the communication openings 7 with the peripheral seal 6b, i.e. after creating a tight, hermetic inner space 8 of the preform 1 of the casing element.

In the present embodiment, the valve 5 is a check valve providing one-way fluid communication with the sealed, hermetic interior space 8. In alternative embodiments, the valve 5 is implemented as a control valve or a safety valve, thus providing functionality consisting in controlling the manufacturing stage of the casing element 10.

As shown in Fig. 2, the expansion medium 9 located inside the casing element preform 1 at a temperature of 20°C, due to gravity forces, has located in the lower region of the casing element preform 1. As can be seen in Fig. 1, the expansion medium 9 located in the tight, hermetic inner space 8 is in a free form and, due to the tightness of the casing element preform 1, remains inside it. In alternative embodiments, the expansion medium 9 may be water, alcohol, an alcohol mixture or at least two compounds stored separately, which, when combined, cause an increase in volume or the generation of heat and vapors. Importantly, the type and volume of the expansion agent 9 introduced into the tight, hermetic internal space 8 depends on the type of physical or chemical transformation occurring in the given expansion agent 9, the thickness of the sheet metal used to form the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of each of the preforms 2 of the chamber element of the casing element preform 1, as well as the size of the casing element preform 1 itself. The expansion agent 9 may therefore be such a compound or mixture that, as a result of the external initiation step of a given physical or chemical transformation, causes an increase in pressure in the tight, hermetic internal space 8 of the preform 1 of the casing element sufficient to deform the first wall 3 and/or the second wall 3 of each of the chamber element preform 2 to form a deformed casing element 10.

The casing element preform 1 thus prepared is used to form the casing element 10. In order to form the casing element 10 from the casing element preform 1, an increase in volume or generation of heat and vapors of the expansion medium 9 is initiated to deform the first wall 3 and/or the second wall 4 of each of the chamber element preforms 2 by the internal pressure of the fluid resulting from the increase in volume and/or generation of vapors of the expansion medium 9. In the present embodiment, the initiation step mentioned above is carried out by heating the casing element preform 1. To simulate fire conditions, the casing element preform 1 is placed in an oven and heated to a temperature ensuring boiling of the expansion medium 9 in the form of glycerine, thereby creating vapors and increasing the internal pressure in the tight, airtight inner space 8 of the casing element preform 1.

W niniejszym przykładzie wykonania, w celu wykonania testów i dla zapewnienia bardziej dynamicznej przemiany preformę 1 elementu osłonowego umieszczono w piecu i ogrzewano w temperaturze 300°C w czasie 10 minut. In the present embodiment, for testing purposes and to ensure a more dynamic transformation, the casing element preform 1 was placed in an oven and heated at 300°C for 10 minutes. In alternative embodiments, the initiation temperature and heating duration may vary and depend on the expansion medium 9, which is selected depending on fire or explosion protection requirements. For example, when the expansion medium 9 is 60% ethyl alcohol, the deformation of the casing element preform 1 occurs at a lower temperature, for example 100°C, and in a shorter time, for example 5 minutes. As a result of the change of the aggregation state of the expansion medium 9 in the form of glycerin, the internal pressure in the tight, hermetic inner space 8 increases to a value causing gradual plastic deformation of the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of each of the chamber element preforms 2, as illustrated in the subsequent stages in Figs. 3A-F. As can be seen in these figures, the final form of deformation of the casing element 10 is assumed in Fig. 3F, at which stage the gaseous expansion medium 9 is contained within the casing element 10. After the casing element 10 has cooled to ambient temperature, the expansion medium 9 is converted back from the gaseous state to the liquid or solid state, depending on the ambient temperature. The casing element 10 thus produced is shown in an axonometric view in Fig. 4. As can be seen in this figure, the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of each of the two chamber element preforms 2 have been deformed, causing the casing element 10 to "inflate." The greatest degree of deformation is observed in the central areas of the walls 3, 4, furthest from the edge seal 6a. The smallest degree (or none) of deformation is observed in the areas adjacent to the edge seal 6a, whereby the casing element 10 returns to its original shape, which is determined by the casing element preform 1.

Przykład 2Example 2

Drugi przykład wykonania preformy 1 elementu osłonowego według niniejszego wynalazku został schematycznie przedstawiony w widoku aksonometrycznym na fig. 5 oraz w widoku przekrojowym na fig. 7A-F. Fig. 7A-E przedstawiają w widoku przekrojowym kolejne etapy wytwarzania drugiego przykładu wykonania elementu 10 osłonowego z zastosowaniem preformy 1 elementu osłonowego według niniejszego wynalazku, zamocowanej na ścianie 11 korytarza budynku.A second embodiment of a covering element preform 1 according to the present invention is schematically shown in an axonometric view in Fig. 5 and in a cross-sectional view in Figs. 7A-F. The covering element preform 1 in the present embodiment of the invention comprises ten substantially identical chamber element preforms 2. The covering element preform 1 in the present embodiment of the invention is a functional element used as a fire barrier, blocking the spread of fire along the entire length of a corridor and is mounted to a wall over the entire height of the corridor. Figs. 7A-E show in a cross-sectional view the subsequent steps of manufacturing a second embodiment of a covering element 10 using the covering element preform 1 according to the present invention, mounted on a wall 11 of a corridor of a building.

The present embodiment of the casing element preform 1 as well as the method for manufacturing the casing element preform 1 is substantially identical to that shown in Example 1, therefore the similar design technical features of the casing element preform 1 as well as the steps of the method for manufacturing the casing element preform 1 will not be discussed in detail for the sake of clarity of the present disclosure.

Jak przedstawiono na fig. 7A, preforma 1 elementu osłonowego, wytworzona sposobem przedstawionym w pierwszym przykładzie wykonania, przymocowana jest do powierzchni zewnętrznej ściany 11 korytarza i przytwierdzona do niego częścią powierzchni ściany 3 pierwszej pierwszej preformy 1 elementu komorowego, zachowując szczelność hermetycznej przestrzeni 8 wewnętrznej. Tak przygotowana preforma 1 elementu osłonowego stanowi gotową do działania barierę przeciwpożarową.As shown in Fig. 7A, the preform 1 of the covering element, manufactured by the method shown in the first embodiment, is attached to the outer surface of the corridor wall 11 and attached thereto by a part of the surface of the first wall 3 of the first chamber element preform 1, maintaining the tightness of the hermetic internal space 8. The preform 1 of the covering element prepared in this way constitutes a ready-to-operate fire barrier.

In alternative embodiments, the attachment of the preform 1 of the protective element to the structures protected against fire may be carried out by means of point attachment or attachment with the entire surface of one of the walls 3, 4 of the preform 2 of the chamber element.

7F.In the event of a fire spreading in the corridor, near the wall 11 with the enclosure element preform 1 attached thereto, the temperature increase causes the expansion medium 9 placed inside the tight airtight inner space 8 to boil rapidly, resulting in an increase in internal pressure and deformation of the enclosure element preform 1, as shown in the subsequent views of Figs. 7B-F. In the event that the first wall 3 of one chamber element preform 2 is attached partially to the corridor wall 11, its degree of deformation is substantially the same as the degree of deformation of the other chamber element preforms 2, which constitute the components of the enclosure element preform 1. In this way, a enclosure element 10 is formed, which constitutes a fire barrier protecting the corridor against the spread of flames to the further part of the corridor, as shown in Fig. 7F.

It is also worth mentioning that the valve 5 is arranged on the wall 3 of the first preform 2 of the chamber element, attached to the corridor wall 11. To maintain a stable connection of the preform 1 of the casing element with the corridor wall 11, an opening is made in the corridor wall 11, which is intended to accommodate the valve 5 of the preform 1 of the casing element. In the present embodiment, the valve 5 constitutes a check valve ensuring one-way fluid communication with the tight, hermetic internal space 8.

In the present embodiment, in the tight, hermetic inner space 8 of the preform 1 of the casing element there is an expansion medium 9, which is ethanol.

In an alternative embodiment, the expansion agent may be at least two compounds stored separately, which, when combined, cause an increase in volume or generate heat and vapors. Expansion agent 9 may therefore be contained in a tank with two compartments, each containing the two compounds separately. For example, such a tank may be made of thin glass, which shatters under the impact of vibrations of the preform 1 of the enclosure element, causing the two compounds to spill into the hermetic inner space 8 of the preform 1 of the enclosure element. The compounds mix, initiating a chemical reaction that results in an increase in the volume of expansion agent 9 and/or the generation of vapors. The tank may also be made of thin plastic, which, under the influence of external factors such as elevated temperature or vibrations, loses its tightness, allowing the separately stored compounds to combine. Importantly, the geometric dimensions of the tank should allow for its introduction through valve 5.

A non-limiting example of an expansion agent 9, which is at least two compounds stored separately that, when combined, cause an increase in volume or the generation of heat and vapors, is a polyol and an isocyanate, which, when combined, cause a chemical reaction to occur that causes the polyurethane foam to expand. In this way, the tight, airtight inner space 8 is filled with PUR foam, which causes an increase in internal pressure and the desired deformation of the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of each of the preforms 2 of the chamber element, thus forming the enclosure element 10. Filling the tight, airtight inner space 8 of the enclosure element 10 with polyurethane foam characterized by good thermal insulating properties further increases the barrier effect of the enclosure element 10.

In alternative embodiments, any two or more compounds may be used which, when combined, cause an increase in volume and/or the formation of vapors that result in an increase in pressure within the sealed airtight inner space 8 to deform the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of each chamber element preform 2. Such compounds may include, for example, iron and copper (II) oxide stored separately, wherein during the reaction, the iron is reduced and the copper is oxidized, generating a large amount of heat that can be used to boil the fluid contained within the sealed airtight inner space 8 to create vapors and increase the pressure within the casing element preform 1.

Element komorowy 10 utworzony z preformy 1 elementu osłonowego według niniejszego przykładu wykonania wynalazku, został przedstawiony w widoku aksonometrycznym na fig. 6.The chamber element 10 formed from the casing element preform 1 according to the present embodiment of the invention is shown in an axonometric view in Fig. 6.

P rz y kła d 3Example 3

Trzeci przykład wykonania preformy 1 elementu osłonowego według niniejszego wynalazku został schematycznie przedstawiony w widoku przekrojowym na fig. 8A. Preforma 1 elementu osłonowego w niniejszym przykładzie wykonania wynalazku obejmuje dziesięć zasadniczo jednakowych preform 2 elementu komorowego. Preforma 1 elementu osłonowego w niniejszym przykładzie wykonania wynalazku stanowi element użytkowy stosowany w formie bariery przeciwwybuchowej, zabezpieczający przed destrukcyjnymi skutkami wybuchu. Fig. 8A-E przedstawiają w widoku przekrojowym kolejne etapy wytwarzania trzeciego przykładu wykonania elementu 10 osłonowego z zastosowaniem preformy 1 elementu osłonowego według niniejszego wynalazku, zamocowanej na ścianie 11 korytarza.A third embodiment of a casing element preform 1 according to the present invention is schematically shown in a cross-sectional view in Fig. 8A. The casing element preform 1 in the present embodiment of the invention comprises ten substantially identical chamber element preforms 2. The casing element preform 1 in the present embodiment of the invention is a useful element used in the form of an explosion barrier, protecting against the destructive effects of an explosion. Figs. 8A-E show in a cross-sectional view the successive steps of manufacturing a third embodiment of a casing element 10 using the casing element preform 1 according to the present invention mounted on a corridor wall 11.

The present embodiment of the casing element preform 1 as well as the method for manufacturing the casing element preform 1 is substantially identical to that shown in the second example, therefore the similar design technical features of the casing element preform 1 as well as the steps of the method for manufacturing the casing element preform 1 will not be discussed in detail for the sake of clarity of the present disclosure.

Jak przedstawiono na fig. 8A, preforma 1 elementu osłonowego, wytworzona sposobem przedstawionym w pierwszym przykładzie wykonania, przymocowana jest do powierzchni zewnętrznej ściany 11 korytarza i przytwierdzona do niej częściowo, zachowując szczelność hermetycznej przestrzeni 8 wewnętrznej. Tak przygotowana preforma 1 elementu osłonowego stanowi gotową do działania barierę przeciwwybuchową.As shown in Fig. 8A, the shielding element preform 1, manufactured by the method shown in the first embodiment, is attached to the outer surface of the corridor wall 11 and partially attached thereto, maintaining the tightness of the hermetic internal space 8. The shielding element preform 1 prepared in this way constitutes a ready-to-operate explosion barrier.

In the event of an explosion occurring near the corridor wall 11 with the enclosure element preform 1 placed thereon, impact or shocks cause the expansion medium 9 placed inside the tight, hermetic inner space 8 to boil violently, which causes an increase in internal pressure and deformation of the enclosure element preform 1, as shown in the subsequent views of Figs. 8B-F. In the event that the first wall 3 of one chamber element preform 2 is attached partially to the corridor wall 11, its degree of deformation is substantially the same as the degree of deformation of the other chamber element preforms 2, which constitute the components of the enclosure element preform 1. In this way, a enclosure element 10 is formed, as shown in Fig. 8F, which constitutes an explosion barrier protecting the corridor against the spread of potentially hazardous substances and minimizing the effects of an explosion.

Pozwala to z jednej strony ograniczyć stopień odkształcenia ścian 3 pierwszych i ścian 4 drugich preform 2 elementów komorowych, a z drugiej zabezpiecza przed wzrostem ciśnienia powyżej wartości krytycznej, która powodowałaby rozerwanie elementu osłonowego 10.In this embodiment of the invention, a valve 5 (not shown) is attached to the wall 4 of the second preform 2 of the chamber element, furthest from the corridor wall 11 to which the preform 1 of the casing element is attached, with the valve 5 constituting a safety valve. The pressure increase in the tight, airtight internal space 8 is limited to the threshold value (in this embodiment, 20 bar) of the safety valve. Exceeding this value causes the valve 5 to open, thereby releasing gases from the tight, airtight internal space 8. This allows, on the one hand, to limit the degree of deformation of the walls 3 of the first and walls 4 of the second preforms 2 of the chamber elements, and, on the other hand, protects against a pressure increase above a critical value that would cause the casing element 10 to burst.

In an alternative embodiment, in which the casing element preform 1 is equipped with a valve 5 in the form of a control valve, the pressure increase in the tight, airtight inner space 8 is regulated to a set value (for example, 2 bar) by regulating the control valve. In this way, it is possible to regulate the degree of deformation of the first wall 3 and the second wall 4 of each of the chamber element preforms 2 and influence the shape of the target chamber element 8. For example, it is possible to limit the set value of the control valve to 1.5 bar and thereby stop the deformation of the casing element at the stage shown in Fig. 8C. Above a value of 1.5 bar in the tight, airtight inner space 8, the control valve will let gases pass through, preventing a further pressure increase.

In a preferred embodiment, the valve 5 is mounted on the first wall 3 or the second wall 4 of the chamber element preform 2, furthest from the corridor wall 11, by means of a detachable connection, for example a screw connection. After the casing element 10 is manufactured, the valve 5 can be unscrewed and a handle screwed in its place to facilitate removal of the casing element 10 after the fire or explosion hazard has passed.

In this example, the expansion medium 9 is water, but alternatively, it is possible to use two separately stored compounds, one of which is contained in the tank, while the other, which reacts with it, is stored freely in a tight, airtight inner space 8. Breaching the tightness of the tank, caused by impact or vibration, causes the release of the compound stored therein and its combination with the other compound stored in the tight, airtight inner space 8.

Czwarty przykład wykonania preformy 1 elementu osłonowego według niniejszego wynalazku został schematycznie przedstawiony w widoku przekrojowym na fig. 9A. Preforma 1 elementu osłonowego w niniejszym przykładzie wykonania wynalazku stanowi element użytkowy stosowany w formie bariery przeciwpożarowej, chroniącej wrażliwe elementy nośne budynku, takie jak słupy nośne 12. Fig. 9A-C przedstawiają w widoku przekrojowym kolejne etapy wytwarzania czwartego przykładu wykonania elementu 10 osłonowego z zastosowaniem preformy 1 elementu osłonowego według niniejszego wynalazku, zamocowanej na słupie nośnym 12 konstrukcji budynku, z kolei fig. 10 przedstawia w widoku aksonometrycznym element 10 osłonowy wytworzony z preformy 1 elementu osłonowego z fig. 9A.A fourth embodiment of a covering element preform 1 according to the present invention is schematically shown in a cross-sectional view in Fig. 9A. The covering element preform 1 in the present embodiment of the invention is a utility element used as a fire barrier protecting sensitive load-bearing elements of a building, such as load-bearing columns 12. Figs. 9A-C show in a cross-sectional view the subsequent steps of manufacturing a fourth embodiment of a covering element 10 using the covering element preform 1 according to the present invention mounted on a load-bearing column 12 of a building structure, while Fig. 10 shows in an axonometric view a covering element 10 manufactured from the covering element preform 1 of Fig. 9A.

The present embodiment of the casing element preform 1 as well as the method for manufacturing the casing element preform 1 is substantially identical to that shown in the third example, therefore the similar design technical features of the casing element preform 1 as well as the steps of the method for manufacturing the casing element preform 1 will not be discussed in detail for the sake of clarity of the present disclosure.

In contrast to the casing element preforms 1 disclosed in the second and third embodiments, in this embodiment the communication openings 7 are arranged at a distance (in an offset region) from the central region of the walls 3, 4 of the chamber element preforms 2. Thanks to this arrangement of the communication openings 7, the casing element 10 manufactured from the casing element preform 1 has a shape adapted to the shape of the supporting post 12 to be protected. The location of the communication openings 7 does not constitute a limitation of the invention and in alternative embodiments the communication openings 7 may be arranged at a greater or lesser distance from the central region of the walls 3, 4 of the chamber element preforms 2, provided that the tight, airtight internal space 8 of the casing element preform 1 is maintained and the shape of the resulting casing element 10 fulfills the required protective function. The communication openings 7 may therefore be arranged at any locations on the walls 3, 4 of each of the component preforms 2 of the chamber element. Therefore, it is possible to adjust the shape of the obtained covering element 10 by appropriately arranging the communication holes 7. As can be seen in Figs. 9A-F and 10, arranging the communication holes 7 in an area spaced from the central area of the walls 3, 4 of the preforms 2 of the chamber element results in a covering element 10 with a substantially annular cross-section, with the supporting column 12 being arranged in the center of the ring.

Similarly to the arrangement of communication openings 7, their number on walls 3, 4 does not constitute a limitation of the invention and in alternative implementations may be greater and amount to, for example, two or more communication openings 7 on one wall 3, 4. The number of communication openings 7 on individual walls 3, 4 does not have to be the same, provided that a tight, hermetic internal space 8 of the preform 1 of the casing element is ensured. A larger number of communication openings 7 ensures better fluid communication between individual preforms 2 of the chamber elements, and thus greater efficiency of deformation of individual preforms 2 of the chamber elements to obtain the finished casing element 10. A larger number of communication openings 7 may also affect the final geometry of the obtained casing element 10.

Additionally, in the alternative embodiment shown in Fig. 11, valves 5 are connected to the wall 3 of the first one preform 2 of the chamber element, through which an expansion medium 9 is introduced. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 11, the expansion medium is stored separately in two compounds, which, when combined, cause an increase in volume or the generation of heat and vapors. The expansion medium 9 is therefore in the form of a tank with two compartments, in which the two compounds are stored separately. When a fire or explosion breaks out near the preform 1 of the casing element, the tight, airtight internal space 8 of the preform 1 of the casing element is filled with the pressurized gas vapors formed by the reaction of the two compounds, which results in deformation of the preform 1 of the casing element and formation of a casing element 10 constituting a fire barrier for the supporting column 12.

Alternatively, the expansion medium 9 may be introduced through the valve 5 from an external source of the expansion medium only at the moment of a fire hazard, thus initiating the introduction of the expansion medium 9 from the source of the expansion medium is carried out outside the system of the preform 1 of the casing element by means of external technical means, for example by means of a temperature sensor which activates the source of the expansion medium fluidly connected to the valve of the preform 1 of the casing element.
