Abstract

The frame (2) comprises two or more profiled vertical members (3), between which one or more cross-members (35) are fixed, accommodating fittings etc. Lugs on the cross-member ends fit in holes in the vertical members. Each of the cross-members is of rolled box-section, on which a lengthwise rib (5) is formed on the outside. This contains a row of holes for the cross-member lugs. The ribs can be on the sides facing towards each other of the two vertical members, the holes in them being at the same levels. Each rib can be formed by a folding operation, so that it has three times the wall thickness of the remainder of the rib. There can be a locking plate screwed to each end of the cross-member and pressing against the rib, so as to pull the respective lug into the hole and hold it there.
