Abstract

The invention relates to a method for grinding grains, as well as to a device for implementing such a method. According to this method, the grains are humidified with a liquid, and compression and shear forces are applied to the grains with a first pair of rollers (4), so that the grain core internal structure (endosperm) is modified and the grain skin undergoes little or no damage. The grains are then transferred to another pair of rollers (5) having a ribbed surface for grinding. This is followed by grinding by another pairs of rollers (6) and/or sieving of the ground products, so that the final product is substantially in the form of flour. The inventive method is a low grinding method.
