Abstract

The invention relates to a ridge and/or hip ventilation element (10) having a central part (11) which can be fixed onto a ridge lath and/or a hip lath (15), and a side part (12). Both sides of the central part (11) are adjoined by side parts (12), which can be placed by their outer edge areas (26) on roof coverings (20), and are so configured as to let air circulate between their edge areas (26) and the central part (11). The side parts (12) have longitudinal folds (18, 19, 28 to 30) in their air-permeable area (16) and/or in their outer edge areas (26). These longitudinal folds extend in the longitudinal direction (17) of the ridge and/or hip ventilation element and create a storage area. The ridge and/or hip ventilation element (10) is thus so configured as to be extractable by its lateral length. By using this ridge and/or hip ventilation element (10), open spaces of different sizes between the ridge lath and the roof covering can be covered in such a way that air circulation is possible between the ridge lath and the roof covering, and the space between the ridge bricks and the roof covering is easy to seal.
