Abstract

The lift comprises a cabin suspended by one (3A) of the two strands (3A,3B) of a cable (3) which passes over a pulley (4). The other strand supports a counterweight (5). The cabin displacement means (6) consists of the external surface (7A) of the driving strand of a driving belt (7) tensioned between two return pulleys (8) one of which is motorized. Anchoring of the cable at the top of the cabin induces a force (F) which applies the driving strand onto the external surface of a vertical guide.
