Abstract

Hospital or nursing bed comprises a subconstruction (1) and a laying surface (2) that is connected to the subconstruction and can be adjusted in height via two pivoting mountings (3, 4) using a directly and/or indirectly acting motor (10). The laying surface can be raised at the head (16) or foot end (17). The motor is connected to one of the pivot mountings so that its action can be mechanically interrupted. Preferred Features: The two pivot mountings are joined together by a telescopic coupling element in the form of a gas tension or compression spring (12) that can be blocked in any telescopic position.
