Istota rozwiązania polega na tym, że na stropie (4) ostatniej kondygnacji budynku znajduje się paroizolacja i warstwa izolacji termicznej (2), na której znajduje się absorber (1) a nad absorberem, od strony padania promieniowania słonecznego, usytuowana jest przezroczysta przegroda (5) korzystnie szklana stanowiąca pokrycie dachu. Przezroczysta przegroda (5) wraz z absorberem (1) i bocznymi ściankami kolankowymi (6) obudowy, korzystnie izolowanymi termicznie i wyposażonymi w absorbery (11), ogranicza wewnętrzną przestrzeń (8) stropodachu, która to przestrzeń służy do akumulacji i transportu ciepła wraz z ogrzanym powietrzem lub innym gazem.
