Abstract

The method according to the invention is characterized in that, in the first stage, a reaction mixture containing from 65 wt. % to 75 wt. % polycaprolactonediol as an oligodiol forming flexible segments and from 25 wt. % to 35 wt. % isophorone diisocyanate is subjected to a temperature of 90-120°C for 0.5-3 hours at reduced pressure to form a prepolymer preferably having a content of free isocyanate groups from 3.5 to 15%. Then, in the second stage, 1,4-butanediol in an amount of from 6%-12% by weight is added to the obtained prepolymer preferably with intensive mixing, preferably in a homogenizer, for 0.5-2 minutes. in relation to the starting substrates in the first stage, after which the reaction mixture thus obtained is poured onto a metal mould and heated for a period of 80-120 hours at a temperature of 70-90°C, and the obtained polyurethanes are preferably left for another 24 hours for relaxation, after which they are demolded. Segmented polyurethanes, especially for medical applications, characterized in that they contain from 25 to 45% of rigid segments.
