Wynalazek dotyczy zasadniczo zastosowan diagnostycznych i terapeutycznych genu Grainyhead-like 1 (Grhl1) zwiazanego z regulowaniem cisnienia krwi u ssaków. Bardziej szczególowo, przedmiotem wynalazku jest sposób in vitro diagnozowania niedocisnienia lub nadcisnienia lub predyspozycji na niedocisnienie lub nadcisnienie, zastosowanie medyczne czynników zwiazanych z genem Grhl1 i czynnikiem transkrypcyjnym Grainyhead-like 1 (GRHL1) do leczenia niedocisnienia lub nadcisnienia oraz sposób przesiewania leków przeciwko niedocisnieniu i nadcisnieniu.
