Wynalazek dotyczy sposobu migracji usług VHBB z techniki ADSL/2/2+ do techniki VDSL2 z bezpośrednim zastosowaniem multipleksera DSLAM. DSLAM weryfikuje typ modemu, a po uzyskaniu potwierdzenia zmiany modemu multiplekser DSLAM zmienia tryb działania portu VDSL2 poprzez wyłączenie trybu Backward Compatibility.
