Przedmiotem wynalazku jest kondensator elektrochemiczny operujący w roztworze cieczy jonowej zawierającej anion jodkowy. Kondensator tego rodzaju znajduje zastosowanie jako urządzenie do magazynowania energii. Kondensator elektrochemiczny składa się z dwóch elektrod wykonanych z materiału węglowego o rozwiniętej powierzchni właściwej co najmniej 200 m2g-1 usytuowanych w elektrolicie i oddzielonych separatorem. Kondensator charakteryzuje się tym, że elektrolitem jest ciecz jonowa zawierająca anion jodkowy, korzystnie jodek 1-metylo-3-propyloimidazoliowy.The present invention relates to an electrochemical capacitor operating in a solution of an ionic liquid containing iodide anion. This type of capacitor is used as an energy storage device. The electrochemical capacitor consists of two electrodes made of carbon material with a developed specific surface area of at least 200 m2g-1 located in the electrolyte and separated by a separator. The capacitor is characterized in that the electrolyte is an ionic liquid containing an iodide anion, preferably 1-methyl-3-propylimidazolium iodide.
