Sposób otrzymywania glikolu propylenowego z gliceryny polega na tym, że: •wodny roztwór oczyszczonej gliceryny otrzymanej jako produkt uboczny w wyniku transestryfikacji tłuszczów roślinnych lub zwierzęcych niskocząsteczkowym alkoholem C1-C6, poddaje się uwodornieniu pod ciśnieniem 4-18 MPa i temperaturze 190-260°C w reaktorze przepływowym wobec heterogenicznego katalizatora utrzymywanego w zawiesinie przez wodór przepływający z prędkością zapewniającą najmniej trzykrotny nadmiar w ilości wymaganej stechiometrycznie, przy czym stosuje się heterogeniczny katalizator otrzymany przez strącenie na bezpostaciową krzemionkę i/lub na glinokrzemian osadów z roztworów soli zawierających co najmniej jony miedzi, cynku glinu i magnezu czynnikiem o charakterze zasadowym, poddanie uzyskanych osadów procesowi filtracji i kalcynacji w piecu, •zawiesinę katalizatora wyprowadza się poza układ reakcyjny wraz z mieszaniną produktów, a część zawiesiny katalizatora wyprowadzonej poza układ reakcyjny po oddzieleniu części produktów, zawraca się do procesu uwodornienia wraz z nową porcją substratów, przy czym zużyty katalizator poza układem oddziela się z mieszaniny reakcyjnej i poddaje regeneracji.The method of obtaining propylene glycol from glycerin is that: • an aqueous solution of purified glycerin obtained as a by-product as a result of transesterification of vegetable or animal fats with low molecular weight C1-C6 alcohol, is hydrogenated at a pressure of 4-18 MPa and a temperature of 190-260 ° C in a flow reactor towards a heterogeneous catalyst kept in suspension by hydrogen flowing at a rate ensuring a minimum threefold excess in the stoichiometric amount required, using a heterogeneous catalyst obtained by precipitation on amorphous silica and / or on aluminosilicate deposits from salt solutions containing at least copper ions, zinc aluminum and magnesium as an alkaline factor, subjecting the obtained sludge to the process of filtration and calcining in an oven, • the catalyst suspension is moved outside the reaction system together with a mixture of products, and part of the catalyst suspension withdrawn from the reaction system after separating some of the products, is recycled to the hydrogenation process together with a new portion of substrates, whereby the spent catalyst outside the system is separated from the reaction mixture and subjected to regeneration.
