Jako substrat stosuje sie 5-jodo-4,4-dimetylo-6-(2-metylopropylo)tetrahydro-2H-piran-2-on. Produkt charakteryzuje sie zapachem kwiatowym z nuta hiacyntowo-akacjowa, dzieki czemu moga znalezc zastosowanie w przemysle kosmetycznym. The invention relates to a method for the production of (+)-5-(1-hydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-4,4-dimethyltetrahydrofuran-2-one of the formula 2 by microbial dehydrohalogenation and translactonization of the substrate, using an enzymatic system of Candida pelliculosa yeast . 5-iodo-4,4-dimethyl-6-(2-methylpropyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-one is used as the starting material. The product is characterized by a floral fragrance with a hint of hyacinth and acacia, thanks to which it can be used in the cosmetics industry.
