Abstract
VAWT posiada skrzydła z ruchomymi łopatami (2) odchylającymi się wokół osi (1) pionowych. Wewnątrz rury (3), do której przymocowane są skrzydła znajduje się mechanizm do optymalnego ustawiania łopat względem kierunku wiatru. Jest to zespół składający się z cięgien (8) i elementu krzywkowego (7). Element ten ma kształt owalnej szpuli. Jest on zamontowany na wspólnym wale razem z wiatrowskazem (6). Wiatrowskaz pod wpływem wiatru może się obracać i ustawiać wypukłą część elementu krzywkowego. Ta część z kolei napina cięgno przynajmniej jednego ze skrzydeł i odchyla je tak, że powstaje ruch przesuwający cięgno do środka rury. Ruch ten odchyla łopaty na tym skrzydle. This movement deflects the blades on this wing. Open blades under the influence of wind cause the rotor to rotate and change the position of the tendon relative to the cam element. This means that the previously bent tendon begins to hit the non-convex part of the cam element and can loosen. The blades fold under the influence of air resistance. The convex part of the wing receives another wing by deflecting its blades and the situation repeats.
