Abstract

Wynalazek ujawnia sposób ograniczania emisji rtęci z kotłów spalających węgiel w procesie wytwarzania energii w elektrowniach, elektrociepłowniach, kotłowniach lokalnych i przemysłowych, a także w spalarniach odpadów, cementowniach i hutach. The invention discloses a method of reducing mercury emissions from coal-burning boilers in the process of power generation in power plants, combined heat and power plants, local and industrial boiler rooms, as well as in waste incineration plants, cement plants and steel works. The method of reducing mercury emissions is characterized by the fact that metallic mercury and some of the NO contained in the flue gas are oxidized in the flue gas duct before the dust collector by means of a sprayed oxidant solution containing waste water after wet flue gas desulphurisation and selective oxidizing compounds dissolved therein, selected from the group consisting of potassium permanganate (KMnO4) and / or potassium chromate (K2Cr2O7) and / or hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and / or sodium chlorite (NaClO2) and / or sodium hypochlorite (NaOClO). The oxidizer solution is sprayed into the exhaust stream into droplets preferably with a diameter smaller than 40 [mu] m and the exhaust gas contacted with it for 0.5 to 3.0 seconds at a minimum temperature of 100 ° C. Next, oxidized mercury vapors and reaction products of SO2 with calcium ions contained in the wastewater solution, are directed with the exhaust gas stream to an electrostatic precipitator, in which CaSO4 particles are removed and adsorbed oxidized mercury vapors (Hg2 +) on fly ash particles and embedded carbon in ash particles and removes along with the ash in the dust collector.
