Elektrodynamiczne łożysko magnetyczne charakteryzuje się tym, że układ tłumienia drgań jest umieszczony między stojanem a wałem (1) i posiada dwie tuleje z przewodzącego materiału niemagnetycznego: pierwszą (4) i drugą (9), które umieszczone są na końcach ramion magnetowodu stojana (5). Magnetowód układu tłumienia drgań (2) ma kształt pierścienia i umieszczony jest na wale (1) urządzenia, w którym usytuowane jest łożysko, a magnesy trwałe: pierwszy (3) i drugi (8) namagnesowane są promieniowo i umieszczone na obwodzie magnetowodu układu tłumienia drgań (2).
