Ponadto wynalazek obejmuje sposób otrzymywania katalizatora Pd/ZrO2/C, jego zastosowanie do elektroutleniania kwasu mrówkowego w ogniwach paliwowych zasilanych kwasem mrówkowym, oraz takie ogniwo paliwowe na kwas mrówkowy.The subject of the invention is a Pd/ZrO2/C catalyst, especially for the electrooxidation of formic acid, containing palladium and zirconium oxide supported on a carbon support, in which the Pd/ZrO2/C catalyst has a nominal mass ratio of zirconium oxide to carbon in the range of 0. 11 - 0.66 preferably (0.25). This catalyst activates itself through spontaneous oscillations of the cell voltage, which does not require energy from an external system. Moreover, the invention includes a method for obtaining a Pd/ZrO2/C catalyst, its use for electrooxidation of formic acid in formic acid fuel cells, and such a formic acid fuel cell.
