Stal stopowa do wytwarzania łańcuchów zwłaszcza łańcuchów górniczych zawiera następujące składniki: od 0,17 % do 0,25 % wagowych C, od 0,8% do 1,4% wagowych Mn, od o,4% do 1,5% wagowych Cr od 0,3% do 1,0% wagowych Mo, od 0,9% do 1,3% wagowych Ni, od 0,1% doO,5% wagowych W, od 0,015% do 0,05% wagowych Al, max. 1,5% wagowych Si, max 0,025% wagowych Cu, max. 0,015% wagowych P, max 0,015% wagowych S, co najmniej jeden ze składników z grupy składników Ta, Nb, V, Hf, Zr, Ti o łącznej ilości od 0,005 do 0,1% wagowych resztę stanowi żelazo oraz nieuniknione zanieczyszczenia.
